Default Game intros and trailers that hold a special place in you gaming life

This is a two part question

#1 Sometimes when I am working at my desk I like to to insert certain games and just let them run there demo or gameplay screens. With certain games the demos or gameplay screen can be so awesome it just has me hooked it is like listening to the same song over and over. with all the crappy ones that just load to a start screen and nothing else. What games hold a special place for you in this capacity.

ninja gaiden black (never beat it but some of the best action sequence I have ever seen in a video game to this date straight butt kicking especially the red ninja fight seen) and the music is top notch.

GAMEDAY 98 If there was ever an intro to get you ready for football it was this one the hits were awesome. No video apparently I was the only one impressed by that one.

Legend of zelda the oot The music and scenery was so peaceful.

Metal gear solid (giant and shamen)

#2 what companies put together such an awesome trailer you still remember it to this day. here are a few that I remember. I know mine might be mainstream but list yours and I will check them out This would be good for people that wondered what was all the fuss about.

First up max payne e3 2001 trailer Man when I first saw this I was hooked. When the music started up near the end boy I was caught up in the hype. When the pillar falls near the end the man on the balcony gets crushed but his gun is still in the air.

I also like the halo 2 extended commerial. Great job considering the pressure bungie was under. Memorable quotes (I will continue my campaign against the humans & No enemie has ever withstood our might

FF7's an obvious one really- great scene-setter for the whole game AND merely remaking that has fanboys all over the world (er, me included) salivating like crap.

Another one I found truly brilliant was Abe's Exoddus on the PS1- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUL6nXtQNps The Abe games remain some of my all-time faves even today, and the direction is a very good reason for that.

Dead or Alive 2 is another one, more for the song than anything else. :-)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOivIkPx4TI Soul Blade is also another classic.

My 'wild' pick for this one? Crazy Taxi 2 on the DC. Don't ask me why, I always loved it.

Wow, there are countless intros I have a special place for. Where do I start?

    Super Street Fighter 2
Ryu, Cammy and Chu Li flash in/out until Ryu throws a fireball at the screen while the music pumps. Just kicks ass!

    Battletoads
I use to watch the intro on loop as a kid to listen to the music. Something about it...

    Ninja Gaiden Black
I think this was said already -- but TOTALLY agree. I can hear it now, "The Dark Dragon Sword..."
Parallel universe. Bush, destitute, joins army.

Altered Beast: letting the "attract mode" run reminds me of back in 1989 when a toy store had a Genesis with Altered Beast set up as a demo. I was enthralled with the "awesome 16-bit graphics."

The first ever Twilight Princess trailer from E3 2004. I just didn't see it coming and it sent chills down my spine.

Unfortunately it's a sort of obscure game, so no one here may know what I'm talking about, but Cool Cool Toon on the Dreamcast has the best attract mode of any game I can think of.

Oh wow, the intro to FF8 was incredible. In fact, most of the cinemas in that game are unforgettable.

    Trailers-

Easy- Chrono Cross. Unfortunately my biggest video game excitement led to my biggest video game letdown.
Phantasy Star Online had a really good one, too.

As far as leaving opening modes running, any FF game with the traditional Prelude playing is good, although FFX's opening mode is nice as well.

The Silent Hill 2 intro is truly amazing, it caught me by surprise the first time and left me feeling very uneasy after watching it. Needless to say, that was just a taste of what I was getting myself into.

In recent years, my favorite game intro would be Sonic Heroes. I always liked the intro for Resident Evil 3 with the zombies overrunning the police force. That one I could watch over and over again.

Probably the greatest intro/trailer of all time is the attract mode for Super Mario World. I remember watching that like a trained chimp in department stores upon the release of the Super NES. I ended up getting mine a few months later but I could still sit down and watch that intro four or five times straight today. For someone who hadn't played that game it was so mesmerizing.

    Yeah...that fight scene was cool

I also liked the intro to Sonic Adventure a lot, along with Diddy Kong Racing.

Somehow managed to forget about FF8's intro, it was about the only point in the game the character of Seifer was used properly...

Just remembered another one- Grandia 2, the 'storybook' style intro. Quite poetic. :-)

WARNING! Lots of Gradius openings ahead!

Gradius III (SNES) - it's not much compared to a lot of the later Gradius games, but at the time, wow. I get nostalgic just thinking about it sometimes.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDF-uxiymKs

And here's a commercial for the SFC version based on that opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nN6WvpFaVcY

Gradius Gaiden (PS1) - This was the Gradius opening I'd been waiting for (keep in mind that I hadn't seen either the Gradius or Salamander Deluxe Pack openings yet). I just sat there in awe through the whole thing the first time I fired it up.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiWjLLAFaMQ

Gradius III & IV (PS2) - I first saw this online, and even as small as the version I saw was, it still showed me how much the intro quality had gone up since the PS1. Needless to say, I was quite impressed.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nrQzNY1im2k

Gradius V (PS2) - I finally got to play the game about seven months after its initial release, and hadn't seen any of the opening until then. Another wow, I said.
