Now I missed this the first time I watched the movie, but indeed, there's a Xbox 360 Transformer on screen for a couple of seconds.
I'm still lovin' the Mountain Dew dispenser...

Truth be told, A LOT. But than that's Mikey Bay's thing.
That said however, a LOT of the product placement wasn't so much shameful (the only true shameful one was the Panasonic memory card), but illustrated just how unfamilair with human life the Transformers are.
Many people are harping on the eBay references, but c'mon, don't you think if the Transformers knew what 'ebay' really was, they would have just won the auction instead of chasing Sam down?
I also love how Prime confesses where they 'learned how to talk', since in the original comic they bascially watched TV for hours.
The movei was flipping amazing, and I can NOT WAIT to see TF2 and this one again, several times over.
Yeah, a lot. A good bit of it works well into the plot so it isn't too obnoxious (the 360 and a few others are an exception). Don't forget it's got Spielberg as the producer, the man whose name is also on ET and Back to the Future II. That pair make the product placement in Transformers seem subtle.
I heard that the Xbox 360 was going to be in the movie a long time ago, but I thought the actual use of it was really lame. I mean, when I think of a Xbox 360 transforming, I thought it would be the actual 360 itself, not a freaking cardboard Xbox 360 box. That was dumb. Really dumb. If I was Microsoft, I'd ask for a refund.
Er... the unit inside the box did the transforming.
I thought it was a fun flashy movie, but limited replay value for anything other than a few cool scenes. The placement was over the top, but really - things have been that way for years. Alas, it's totally accepted.
Ad placements? Fuck YAH!
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
You can't really blame the movie using product placements and being basically a commercial for GM cars etc... the original cartoon was a commercial for the toys.
Anyhoo, being a big transformers fan, I thought the movie was alright. It was good enough for being an updated movie about robots that turn into vehicles.
Could have done without Dj Jazzy Jeff though. and Sam and the girl always needing to hold eachother's hands while massive robits trample about.
I dubbed them the Adverbots, and call them one of the goofiest parts of the entire movie.

The poor 360bot, it probably ran around for a few minutes and then overheated and died.

Somebody make me a "CGE 2k7 Attendee banner" so I don't have to use this lame text

The small Decepticon robot (Frenzy I think) could have snuck in there and downloaded the collective knowledge of the English language to Megatron. Or it could have been a wireless transmission. We know from the scene where they are falling in that they could communicate with each other over long distances. This movie gets my vote for the best summer blockbuster in a long time.

I'd rather see a Mountain Dew machine than some generic "Cola" machine like you see on TV. Walk down a street and you are going to see tons of logos and branded merchandise, that is reality. All-in-all I didn't think the product shots were overdone in the movie.
The XB360 and Mt. Dew Treansformers were some of my favs. Though the movie could be called "The GMC commerical with all the giant robots".
