Well? Whats your favorite Real Time Strategy game?
Mine would be command and conquer, because my friend and i constantly played the N64 one, and a few for the pc. i have i think 4 of them.

Somebody once told me to get a life.
I told them I sold it for money to buy video games.
I friggin hate RTS games. You should have a poll listing for people that despise them!

Warcraft II - Best. RTS. Ever.

Command and Conquer!
We used to have two PlayStations hooked up to two monitors "back in the day" and play head-to-head on our own screens. I dabbled a little in the computer versions but the two PSX titles were GOLD, Jerry.... GOLD!
C&C all the way
I've never played any console version,. but I have played all the PC versions (except the newest one by EA) and I LOVE them, but they slowly kept going don hill... each next release was never quite as god as the one before it.
the original with the Covert Ops expansion pack rocks... me and my buddy actually burned out one of my CD-ROM drives playing that!

Me too (well, the new ones). Talk about a generation of video games that have gone nowhere, other than graphical improvements and multiplayer support.Originally Posted by maxlords
Herzog Zwei isn't in the list?!?
Age of Empires II the Conquerors. This game never gets boring, and I just keep coming back for more. I'll probably check out Age of Mythology in a few days.
Starcraft 64 is the best home conversion of a PC rts I've ever played. Regular missions, AND Broodwar? On a Cartridge? Sweet deal. I prefer console versions of RTS because I like playing them by myself, or head to head. I suck playing online against people in RTS, it stresses me out too much for some reason, and I can't think fast enough, or clearly enough to compete against people online.
I prefer Turn based strategy, like A&A, Panzer General II, but I don't mind a little one player RTS once in a while. I have Command and Conquer 64 currently in my deck right now, and I also enjoy playing Tyrants on Genesis every so often, but SC64 is easily the best, and my favorite on consoles.
Dune 2000. In some ways, it's based on the C&C: Red Alert engine, and sure Westwood - before EA ate it whole - tried to drag it into 3-D with Emperor: Battle For Dune, but to me, the original Dune 2000 is the end-all and be-all of RTS. I love it. C&C: Red Alert and Star Trek: New Worlds aren't bad, but I still prefer Dune 2000.
And anyone who wants to go head to head with me online at Dune 2000, I will own you.
Oh, and I've been dabbling in making new maps, if anyone's interested.
I like Star Wars:Galactic Battlegrounds. Didn't like Herzog Zwei at all.
Herzog Zwei. Herzog Zwei. Herzog-f'ing-Zwei.
Real-Time Strategy bores me. I don't want to just hand out orders and watch. I want to kick some ass, too. And I want to fly a Transformer, too! Throw in some killer music and soldiers who explode in a pool of blood, and I'm happy.

Video Game Fanzines Forever!
WARCRAFT!!!!!!!!!!
Dark Reign all the way and of course Total Annihilation and Battle Isle IV
Age of Empires 2 is the Shizznick. This is the first RTS game I ever played and its really good.
C&C definitely!
I remember, in the 6th greade, dialing into my friend's computer for one on one. Red Alert was the coolest game ever back then.

It is a toss up for me between C&C and the Warcraft series. I went through a lot of mice because of those games. >
Command and Conquer [Series]..For me..

O man, I have A&A board game. Anyone up for a night of pure awesomeness...Risk..with GERMANS
Those games rock. It was Age of Empires II that got me interested in this type of games. I could play that and Mythology all day. I just got Rise of Nations and that game is pretty cool too.Originally Posted by MyNameIsBoB
It's really such an abysmal shame that EA essentially dismantled Westwood. They don't even have Kane (Joe Kucan) working for them anymore. I mean, it wasn't enough that they had to mutilate the Ultima series and kill Origin...
I like C&C, but now I really doubt that they'll ever make a truly great one again, esp. without Kane.
I remember when they used to make quality games like The Bard's Tale
