    Default I miss Sega...

Yeah, they're still around. Making new titles for today's generation of consoles. But something is absolutely missing here. I have spent my off time the past few days playing the Master System, the Genesis, the Saturn, and of course the Dreamcast. There is an overwhelming "Sega feel" here, something that does not seem to have been faithfully reproduced with their games on other consoles. Maybe it's just me.

I really miss Sega in the console world. I realize that statement has probably been played out to no end, but I feel I must say it yet again. I think we need Sega in our console world personally, but, I guess that is never going to happen again

Sega to me is pretty dead, although I hear VF5 is pretty good. Gosh they have bastardized the Sonic franchise though.

When I played an Xbox360 for the first time (a few weeks ago, actually), I noticed that it felt a lot like I was playing a Sega console. At least, Dead Rising did, even though it's a Capcom game.

I too miss sega! They were the only company that cared as much about their software as their hard ware. Them and nintendo were always competing over who had the best games, but now people only care about graphics, HD, and online cababilitie's*sigh* DAMN YOU XBOX LOVING BASTARDS! DAMN YOU ALLLL!!!!!

I like my Xbox and consider it an adopted Sega console (probably because I bought it *for* a Sega game).

I also don't use XBOX Live or have any type of HD setup...but thats beside the point.

Sega was pretty much in bed with microsoft during the development of the xbox1. Hell, i have a proto xbox with an arcade harness and it's full of dreamcast files (logos and artwork mostly).

If you like sega, you should talk to this guy. He collects them:

I miss Sega too. Even bad in the NES days, I loved the SMS more. Something about being an arcade rat and Sega just always delivered.

I grew up with Nintendo, but when the Dreamcast came out, I became a Sega fanboy. Once I had exhausted the dreamcast, I moved on to the Xbox. After a while, however, I started wanting more Sega, so I have since been digging the depths of the Saturn and the Genesis. I freaking love my Nomad.

I still need a 32x, Sega CD, and SMS. Once I find these moderately priced (or graduate and get a job), I will possess them all.

I miss Sega, and I despise what they have become. With that said, the substantial backlog of quality Sega games is immense. I suggest setting down the Wiimote, letting the 360 stand idle (while it still works), and continue to dismiss the idea of dropping $600 on a PS3. Instead, reminisce with Sega. Crazy Taxi, Nights, Shining Force, Panzer Dragoon, Vectorman...hell, even Altered Beast all deserve to be enjoyed again.

I guess I missed the Sega boat. I really like the Genesis and played the crap out of it back in the day…for that matter I still do. When it comes to the Saturn and the Dreamcast…I just look at both as failures. I’ve tried and tried to find a reason to own a Saturn but to this day, I can only find one or possibly 2 titles worth owning.

As for the Dreamcast…I did have one, for years. I played it from time to time but again, there weren’t enough must have titles for my to justify keeping it. It seems like the import market for both the Saturn and the DC are far better than what we got over here…possibly that’s why both ultimately failed here.

    Take a hike, wang-broom!
I swear I can smell your stinky hands from here!

    NiGHTS will not be good...

Look at every other franchise that Sonic Team has turned into mediocre mashed potatoes. Sonic. Phantasy Star. Shining Force.

    This can't be good.

SEGA occasionally still makes a good SEGA-like game, but they're mostly middle fo the road nowadays.

Outrun 2, SP, 2006, whatever were all good games.
Virtua Fighter 4/Evo hit the spot.
The Glitter Oasis city in Crazy Taxi 3 sucked, but the updated city from the first game was well worth the price of admission.
Sonic Rush is good, as was Sonic Advance 1. Haven't played Sonic Advance 2 and 3, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Sega consoles had great graphics and were among the early adopters of online capabilities for their games.

Hey, the game changes all the time. Happens every day in the business world, especially in technology. There are plenty of older games & systems to collect and play, probably more than one person could reasonably play in their lifetime at this point. There are lots of new games to enjoy as well; you just have to be willing to look for them.

Everything will be okay, just try to stay calm.

Well I understand that many Sega folks went over to the XBox, so if you have one of those you sort of have a Sega.....

I consider my Xbox a Dreamcast II, actually.

But I think the Dreamcast is really the best console ever made, and hopefully it will come back some day.....but its a pipe dream, because there really isn't room for another console.....

I always tell my friends, I haven't been so impressed with a console since the Dreamcast, but my 360 definately has a sega feel, for me at least. DC brought online gaming to my TV, and a ton of it. Lots of FPSs and sports games, a little puzzle game that comes with the system (sort of like Hexic), and Im playing these same things on my big white box.

the controller has a very DC feel to it as well.
