    1) Japan and USA are both NTSC
    2) The systems and games were released in Japan and USA
    3) Japanese systems are more common
    4) Games will work across regions but will play in whatever language of the region of the system you own
    5) Google is your friend.

Bonus points: Yes, the load times suck. Yes, the CDZ is better. No, neither of the CD systems are as good as the cart based systems.

The only real difference is one internal jumper setting. Attach a switch to said jumper, and you can switch between English and Japanese language. Which also affects the censorship on the game; blood and bouncing Mai ftw!

There are even pal systems, games were sold worldwide, some games in europe even had a french manual added. Complete games include an obi/spine card, also for western european and usa releases

Can you make an NTSC system output a PAL signal via jumpers as well?

    Looks pretty bouncy to me...

Looks the same. Am I missing something here, or just not looking at the right game? Is there a list of games that differ, depending on region, somewhere?

Indeed you can. Although most people would want to remove the jumper, and get full 60Hz output from their machine.

It seems that most people end up buying the JP consoles because they are easier to come by. Assuming one doesn't add the jumper, will the JP text be prohibitive to the overall experience? It seems like most JP games I've imported for other systems have a lot of English text anyways... and the fact that most SNK games were arcade-style should make the text a lot less important anyways. But I was still wondering if this was a huge drawback over the US console.
