I just finished watching the Wild Guns review. At the beginning, especially with the parody theme song, I figured it was just gonna be some lame parody of AVGN, with the reviewer being overly nice to games rather than drag them through the dirt. But it turned out to be a pretty damn solid review, with a couple of good jokes.
I say keep 'em coming. AVGN can take care of bashing the shitty games that deserve bashing, and HVGN can remind us of good long forgotten titles. Both are awesome in my book.
I am not joking. I am being honest here. I post the updates on the vc releases in the Modern gaming forum. I get the infomation early since October.
I stumbled across a forum on the internet that has a poster that gives out vc release dates early. His information is never wrong. He leaks the info from a pr person he knows. That pr person works for a major video game company as pr person. I will not say what company because I don't want that person to be fired.
That info I give out early also sometimes gets posted on gonintendo.com.
I ran across this person because a mod from vc-reviews. The mod said he got the mondays release dates early from a different forum with him mentioning the site.
I give credit to Jsnake and the pr person as a result on my posting updates.
The Happy Video Game Nerd takes a trip down the happy days of childhood in his review of Little Nemo the Dream Master for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

I own Little Nemo the Dream Master for a long time. It is a great game. He is dead on about the game.
He is a feature at retrowaretv.com, easier to manage watching his episodes. Also Derek and James might meet up....but since he is in Alaska I doubt it.

Gee, I'd heard of the Little Nemo comic, but this ultra-rare-ZOMG animated movie is a new one on me. Anyone here familiar with it?

I've seen the movie once on television.
I saw it when I was about 5 years old. I can't remember much about it.
I've had the Little Nemo Dream Master game since 2004 but I never played it much. From what I heard, The movie didn't come out (In America) For at least a year after the game so people thought it was based off of the comics.
so what happened to this guy? he hasn't posted a new review in some time

He graduated from college and was on vacation in California last month, or at least that's what he said in his latest video.
He was almost done with a review but couldn't finish it before leaving.

nice to see a new one after so long.
not sure if the whole comparasin to the AVGN was needed. i always saw them as complete opposites. like jesus and the satan. one does good games and one bad, even if they did the same game i think the review would be completely diffrent because of the way they approch it.
now irate gamer, thats a good rip-off example...but i know weve been through that before here

I tried to like him, but I can't.
I accept what he does, but dunno...he grates on my nerves.
I still see his videos every now and then.
For me, he is the Ned Flander's Approved AVGN.

Three cheers for awkward silences!
I've watched a few of these videos, and I gotta say, they're really well done. They're not consistently funny, but there is some wry humor in there, and the profanity doesn't bother me -- it's generally used for emphasis.
Plus, when he's talking about underrated action games on the SNES, and shows a fast montage of game box art, the last one he slips in is Super 3D Noahs Ark. That was really funny, but I don't know how many folks got it. I hope he wasn't serious.
