Hello. Recently the cd part of my sega cdx has been acting up. Sometimes when the game starts to try and load it makes a clicking sound and then says no disc. Is this an easy to fix problem? Any advice would be helpful.

Sounds alot like the issue we see with the NeoGeo CD. Could be that the head is out of alignment.
take a cotton swab and GENTLY move the laser head just a bit. (sometimes even just a little pressure does the trick.) Try starting up the unit again. Alot ot times, the head pops back into alignment on startup. (while you're at it, might as well clean off the laser head too.)
If this doesn't do it, let me know. (my Mac Mini just starting acting up too with the same issue!)

Hello again. Thanks alot for the advice. I tried the q-tip and there doesn't seem to be much difference. Sometimes it makes the clicking noise and stops, and sometimes it says reading disc, but it doesn't seem to read anything. It just keeps spinning. I get mortal kombat to play, but lethal enforcers just keeps spinning or won't play at all. Any other possibilities?
In mine, the laser plate got loose because the screws became loose.
I'd tighten them up and they'd get loose again. So I glued them in place. I have had no problems for years.
I GOT PICTURES!
The two white spots are where the screws are. Try to tighten them. If you get contact, that may be the reason.

The terms 'easy fix' and 'CDX' are usually mutually exclusive unfortunately.
