    Default Import 3do

I was doing some searching around for some import 3DO games that looked fun to play and that I didn't need to know Japanese to play. One game caught my eye and its called "Battle Pinball" or something like that. I have a couple quesitons about that game and others.

    1. Has anybody played, seen, or heard of this pinball battle game?

    2. Where the hell can I buy Battle Pinball?

    3. What other games that weren't released in the US for 3DO are good but don't have to know another language to play?

    4. Would this Pinball game I'm looking for cost me more than $20?

A friend of mine swears the 3DO Sailor Moon game kicks ass, but I haven't tried it myself.

Can you even play import 3DO games on a US system?

Yup, the 3DO has no region coding, so all games are compatible. I'd easily recommend Policenauts, but thatgoes against the whole "easy to play in English" thing

EDIT -Added a pic..This IS the game you speak of, right?

Mika: Where are you taking me, Gillian?
Gillian: To look at videos on YouTube...
Mika: *sigh* No more videos of a drunk Harry dancing with a dead Snatcher...
Giliian: Nope, it's better...Its LiquidPolicenauts YouTube Videos!
Gillian: And after that, you should also visit

That it does, easily the best of the Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon fighting games (the Super Famicom ones weren't bad by any stretch but the Saturn and PlayStation ones were near totally broken) and an all around excellent fighting game for fans of the series. Nice detailed hand drawn sprites, zoom in scaling when the action gets close or far like many SNK fighters, and fluid gameplay.

Correct but if I remember there were a few games that were dependent on a kanji character library that the US systems didn't have but was present in the Japanese consoles. *goes to look* Ah, yes, here...

The 3DO is one of few CD-based units that feature neither regional lockout nor copy protection, making it easy to use for pirated software. Although there is no regional lockout present in any 3DO machine, a few Japanese games cannot be played on non-Japanese 3DO consoles due to a special kanji font which English language consoles could not read. Games that did not and still had compatibility issues include Sword and Sorcery (which was released in English under the title Lucienne's Quest) and a demo version of Alone in the Dark.

Other than that you'll have no problems. I play the above mentioned Pretty Solider Sailormoon S fighting game in my USA FZ-1 with no problems. In fact I play a duplicate I made of the original (since it took me forever to get - it's one of my grails) and that works no problem as well.

This game is listed as R4 $10 Complete in the online guide, by the way.

add blue forest story and twinkle knights to those 3DO games that won't run on a US console. had to pick up a sanyo TRY-1 to play these, but at least bfs was worth it. twinkle knights is a kooky card-battle/fighting game with digitized ladies that sort of lose their clothes as the game goes on. more dull than racy, actually and the game cheats as it goes on, sometimes aloowing you to win two out of three rounds before suddenly coming up with a slew of good hands that you can't beat without a LOT of replaying. i think there are a few more imports, but i need to poke around the collection when the plasterers and painters leave and i can uncover my stuff...
