Okay, I know this was karma giving me what I deserved, but I must say I feel a lot of love for my PSP at the moment.
I'm talking to my gf and playing a little GTA at the same time (hence the karma) when my PSP suddenly slips from my hands. It cracks against the counter (screen first) then drops a solid six feet to the ground, sending the battery cover (and battery flying in different directions) and popping the UMD slot open, sending the game into the next room.
Well after a long bout of "FUCK FUCK FUCK" I finally gathered up the courage to go look at what I assumed was a brand new paperweight. I pick up the pieces, put it back together and examine my little baby. Not a scratch on it. Keep in mind the screen hit the corner of my counter then hit the floor and bounced into the stove. All face first. Not a scratch on the body either. Everything feels solid, nothing snapped off the cover. Check the UMD, perfectly okay. Boot the sucker up, everything works fine (except I lost my game in progress due to the battery taking flight )
Whoo.... heart attack averted. I think the case must be made of out liquefied Superman. Has anyone seen the guy around since the PSP launched? Just figured since Sony is getting a lot of hate I thought I'd relay some good news about their products. Anyone else have any close calls with their PSP?
