I know you're holding a few things for me Joe and I appreciate it. I haven't forgotten, I'm just crazy busy. I'm going to try and make some time to get out there after I return from my business trip next week.

Cow Racing needs more courses....
Late night so I'm posting this the morning after.
Yesterday was a Saturday which usually means lots of trade-ins. Plus it was a NAVA which means there are collectors about. Plus it was the largest turnout to date including many new faces. These things add up to some pretty nice trade-ins. The store spent nearly $1000 yesterday on trade-ins! Here's a few of the items.
XBox Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (complete) - and thankfully mint. Though the PS2 version is the one in the most demand in my store, the XBox version runs a close second. The fact that it's backwards compatible on 360 means it still has "legs", too.
N64 Millennium 2000 Controller (loose) - I didn't know much about this when I saw it, other than it says "Millennium 2000" below the usual etched Nintendo logo and it's got an unusual black and silver color scheme. The seller received this in a contest from Nintendo Power years ago. From the little information I can glean on the web, it seems very few of these (1000?) were made. Could be a rare gem.
Dreamcast Ikaruga (complete) - It's not uber-rare but the few we've had traded in came and went fast. As you may have noticed, that's a trend I often mention because I like it.
TurboGrafx-16 Neutopia II (complete) - in outer cardboard packaging as well. One of the less traded-in titles on the system, I think the first time I've seen it in a box (other than my personal copy) in the wild.
ColecoVision Antarctic Adventure (complete) - went right into my collection. I had the game but not the box with the little Antarctic map inside. Sweet.
PS2 Fatal Frame (complete) - on any other day I would have written more. Still holds its value at about $40.

Today.
3DO System (loose) - As meaningless as it might sound, these systems very rarely get traded in these days. Stock is going up. Same seller who also traded in a library of 3DO games yesterday, nothing spectacular though.
Dreamcast System (x2, both boxed) - One of which has been modded. Just nice to have 'em in the original box. Traded in with a bunch of games, the better of which include:
Dreamcast Shenmue II (complete) - Euro import.
Dreamcast Headhunter (complete) - Euro import.
Dreamcast Power Stone 2 (complete) - A "top three" for this system, demand-wise.
Other than the English vs. Japanese voice acting, is there any other difference between the DC version and Xbox version of Shenmue II?
That was the only important difference between the two copies. I'm not certain about the extra content, but the xbox does have the better version as far as graphics go. It also contains some filters that allow you to change the games look on the fly, but are otherwise pointless and a camera that allows you to store your pictures to the hard drive.
If you're wondering if getting the pal version is worth it, without a doubt yes. I own both copies but got the DC version first and quite thankful for it. The english voice acting is far inferior to the japanese and really hurts the experience. If you haven't played either version get the Dreamcast one, if you have already played the xbox version get it on Dreamcast anyway and support you're love for all things shenmue. You know you want to go back and beat it again anyway.

Infinite Lives
You should take a common and price it at $100 just to see if
A: somebody tries to steal it
B: somebody tries to buy it
that or do a small contest.
Take a game and price it over. Then hide it in the store.
See my "Fred Sanford" blog post which should pop up on the forum here soon. I didn't want to bog this thread down with today's rant. Instead, the matter at hand.
Wii No More Heroes (complete, about 10 minutes old) - purchased tonight new and then traded in shortly afterward, apparently there was some mix-up in this guy's family finances. I don't ask a lot of questions, I just know that I'll now get to try the game out.
SNES Super Punch-Out!! (loose) - you know, of all the popular SNES games - Chrono Trigger and Earthbound included - THIS is the game I get traded in the least. Perhaps because it's my favorite SNES game of all time. Anyway, it's been about 4 months since I've seen this traded in so I welcome it back, even if it's for a very short time.
Genesis Gunstar Heroes (boxed) - missing the manual. Another popular favorite that's rarely traded in and was quite the diamond in the rough of a rather crappy Genesis pile purchased today. More on this in a moment.
Nintendo DS Lite Lighted Sign - VERY cool, it's about a foot and a half wide, a foot tall. Has a picture of the DS with a hand and stylus, as well as that now familiar logo. It's not a neon sign, it's the kind where the light emanates from within the glass. Looks really nice, now I just gotta find a place to put it. Brought in by a retail game store guy whose store no longer had a spot for it.
Today:
Final Fantasy VII (complete, non-GH version) - I'd buy these all day long if I could. I'd put it in the top ten "do you have?" items.
SMS Buster Douglas Boxing (loose) - Ack, where's the box an manual?! Oh well, this is the first time the game has appeared in this store in any condition.
"Time Machine" gizmo - OK, so this device allows you to play Famicom games on your GBA or DS and also has an output port that lets you display on an external monitor (television). Weird. Weird is good, by the way.
TurboGrafx-16 Dragon's Curse (loose) - Ack again! See Buster Douglas, above.
The time machine is pretty cool, only problem is it requires additional batteries to use it (doesn't leech off the gba battery) and it needs to have a gba game in it to work, works great for no-pirate carts, most pirate carts are a bit loose and don't fit well.

NO WAY MAN!
I DID happen to be there after it got traded in and chatted with Raj about the finer points of the item. (The one that got traded in came with a NES to Famicom adapter in the box!)
I like mine a lot and probably won't ever trade or sell it as long as I own a GBASP and/or a DS Lite (works with that too).
It's proudly in my famiclone collection...possibly one of the strangest ones I own.
