    Default Sly Cooper Series

I bought Sly Cooper 1 and 2 a couple of days ago. Im not very far on the first one. I beat the first world and have done a little of the second. From what i've played its a pretty fun game. A little easy. Just wanted to see what yall thought of the games and is there any chance for a fourth one to be made?

I LOVE Sly Cooper! Every system up through the Dreamcast had games of all different generes that I would buy, play, and enjoy. Since then I haven't cared for to many newer games.

I don't care for the Jak games and think the Ratchet and Crotch series suckes. Sly Cooper however, recaptured the glory days of gaming for me. When I played Sly for the first time I felt the same way I did when I first slid the Sonic the Hedghog cart into my Genny.

It took me back to a time when companies actually cared about the games that they made and they poured their heart and soul into their creation. The Sly games may not be revolutionary, but I don't need or want a revolutionary game (Looking at you Final Fantasy), I just want a very fun very SOLID game and thats what the Sly Cooper series gives me.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

the only SONY PS2 trilogies (jak and ratchet being the other 2) I've actually finished. Hopefully after infamous, sucker punch will give us a fourth entry in the series.

I too am a big fan of the series and I am quietly awaiting a 4th installment, though I wouldn't be suprised if it never happened. The games are a little easy and it wouldn't take long to play all 3 games, but they are worth it. I just loved everything about the games, the game play, the cel shaded graphics, the quirky characters, and more so in the 3rd game you get to utilize the secondary characters as well as Sly. As Wraith Storm said, the games aren't revolutionary but they are solid, and an overall good play.

Just try completing all the extra challenges (like time trials) in the first one to get 100% and then come back here and say how easy they are

The Sly Cooper series is exceptional - I think they're very well-done and loads of fun. The second and third installments are very different from the first - the introduction of Bentley and Murray as playable characters adds quite a bit to the variety of gameplay, as they are both very different from Sly in almost every regard. With Bentley, in fact, it almost becomes much more of a brawler than a sneaker.

And getting all the clue bottles in the second one can be a major PITA. But I'd rather do that to get 100% than those time trials from the first one.

Great series. Never finished the third one, though.

I really enjoyed the first game in the series, but the bottle collecting in the 2nd game was so tedious it pretty much caused me to shelve it. I'm definitely going to have to go back and pick it up again one of these days.

Sly Cooper 1 and 2 are wonderful. The first game was fun as hell, but the second game is one o the best 3d platformers I've ever played (if not the best). It had some nagging technical quirks (like the strange ghosting), but the quality of the level designs are damn near unsurpassed.

The third game was a sharp nose dive in relative comparison. The levels felt derivative and the objectives were frequently annoying. The technical quirks were back in full effect and the game felt incredibly dated (on a technical level) compared to the advancements that had been made in both the Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter series.

I'd love to see Sucker Punch return to work on a fourth title, because I absolutely loved Rocket: Robot on Wheels, Sly, and Sly 2. Perhaps they just couldn't handle churning out annual sequels. Hell, even Insomniac faltered with Ratchet: Deadlocked (which wasn't even close to the awesomeness of Up Your Arsenal).

...but yea, if you've never played them, the first two games are totally worth hunting down and picking up on the cheap. Perhaps fire up Rocket: Robot on Wheels in your favorite N64 emulator, too...because it's equally the bee's knees.

Yes. It's one of the best games on the PS2. I got the second one not too long ago but haven't played it yet.

I have all 3, but have only cracked open the first to play through so far. Definitely one of my favorite games. Reminds me of a well made NES/SNES platformer done in 3D.

The first one is just awesome. The second and third, not so much. Sly 2 is okay, and I haven't played 3 yet but from what I hear there's too many minigames thrown in there.

Started playing the 1st one last night and really enjoying it. Opened up the first few areas in the second world, got all the keys and clues in the first. The graphics are simly gorgeous.

I really wish they'd do a new Sly Cooper on the PS3, especially now that they've wrapped up inFamous (and apparently returned to form since they, you know, got more than a year of development time for the game...)

I picked up the three games over the last six months but haven't had a chance to crack them open yet. Reading the thread I think I may have to make some time this weekend and take a shot at the first one.
