I hate caps... but the title needed it.
Gamestop is literally throwing all Sega and N64 in the TRASH! My friend grabbed 224 Sega games today. They are trashing any and all cartridge games (except Game Boy)!!!
GO! GO NOW!! Check the dumpsters!!

I can't think of a Gamestop in Northern NJ that still has any of either.
"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"
That's just it! Ours didn't either... I guess their backroom was full of them or something as they threw out a ton!
Interesting. I'll have to call my "inside man" and see if they have anything. Doubt it, but it's worth a shot.

There are over a dozen Game Stop locations in the area and many employees know of classic and retro game stores around here. I'm sure they're already digging around and plan on selling to them and online so I'd doubt it's worth my time. On top of that, most older titles GS *had* were sports and worthless, horrible reject games not even kids could talk relatives into buying. I still have around 300 loose sports cartridges in the garage that came from a pawn shop, all worthless individually and shipping costs more than they're worth. Truthfully, they are best used as target practice and help raise the rarity.

Well here's the haul so far. Going for more!!
And you might get $10 for all those games if they are sports!
I weep for the cartridges that will get trashed... but laugh at the freebies that will be claimed at Gamestoop's expense.
GS hasn't had Genesis games here for like four years.
Possibility is infinity! You must be satisfied!
You just can't handle my jawusumness responces. -The Sizz
Same here. All the stuff my local GS had is LONG gone.... Lame ass Gamestop. They could at least donate the fucking games instead of trashing them. I'm sure some charity could put them to good use.
If you dug all those carts out of the GameStop trash, how come they were put in GameStop branded plastic bags? Did you ask the guy behind the counter, "Excuse me, we're going to go diving in your dumpster out back, mind if we use a couple of your bags, please?"
"I am a cipher, wrapped in an enigma, smothered in secret sauce."
I feel like this is one of those times where the saying "too good to be true" really hits hard. Other than the fact that virtually no Gamestop (at least in my area) will have any games to throw out, whatever they do throw out will be the stuff that nobody wanted for the years they sat in the bargain bins and none of the employees ever wanted to take themselves. Every now and then you hear about someone who strikes gold during these escapades but something tells me this isn't one of those times. I don't think anyone will be finding a Gamestop about to throw out Gunstar Heroes.
Why is that Gamestop location suddenly cleaning Genesis games out of their backroom now? Do they need space for all the Dreamcast, PS1 and Xbox disc only sports games that are headed out there to take their place?
The Gamestops in my area actually still sell Genesis/N64 stuff, so I will break the dumpster-diving gloves out of retirement (after I make sure the store isn't still selling them first) and have a look.
.
I think I'm going to pass just because of the fact that the gamestops I've had around me have been cleaned out of genesis since before ps2 came out if i remember correctly. I really see there being no chance of there being any games worthwhile.
what kind of gamestops do you have?
Yeesh mine don't even have PS1 games let alone Genesis
At least E.T. won't be alone any more...
Maybe you could sell them to the metal-reclaiming sweatshops in third-world asian countries - think of all the metal on those circuit boards!

I thought GameStop as a whole stopped selling anything pre-PS2. I remember when Rhino was clearing out Saturn stuff. Got A ton of games and a gun for about $20. And I mean good games (Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, Virtua Fighter, etc.)
