    Question Dreamcast Imports

    Hey all!

I'm getting a Dreamcast, and I was wondering what the best imports are.
Karous and Radiant Silvergun are already on my list, but there is definately more out there that I would love.

Please give me all of your thoughts/suggestions!

    ~Kyle15

EDIT: Do not pay attention to my mentioning of Radiant Silvergun, I meant Ikaruga!

IDK what karous is, but you've got the wrong system if you're trying to play radiant silvergun.

In other words, Radiant Silvergun is a Saturn import, not Dreamcast.

You are thinking of Ikaruga, not Radiant Silvergun. Some sellers on ebay have listed Ikaruga as Radiant Silvergun 2. Anyway, Karous is coming to the Wii in Milestone's shump pack. That pack contains all milestone shooters on DC: Chaos Field, Radilgy/Radirgy/Radio Allergy, and Karous.

    I recommend:

    Trigger Heart Excelia
    Under Defeat
    Border Down

Lots of good homebrew for the Dreamcast. Check out Double Dragon homebrew, its awesome.

Really? I wouldn't recommend either Karous or Trigger Heart. IMO they are mediocre at best. The three best shooters for the DC are Border Down, Under Defeat and Zero Gunner 2.... Ikaruga is nice, but I don't think it's the end all be all like some say. Most of the other shooters are worthwhile, like Psyvariar 2 and Shikigami no Shiro 2. Gunbird 2 and Mars Matrix are also nice, but not import exclusive.

Are you looking for import exclusives, or DC releases in general?

Wow... hadn't heard this one and will grab it in a second. I had Radio Allergy on preorder forever on the GC before it was canned :/

Yeah, I was thinking of Ikaruga. I also had a lot of other games running through my mind at the moment....
    Thanks for correcting me!

I would prefer import exclusives at the moment, but I don't mind non-exclusive imports as well.

For the Milestone games, I like Radirgy the best. Karous is similar in style to Radirgy but with some changes in the score mechanic and a "darker" theme.
Chaos Field is a deep score base game and may appeal to some but I did not care too much for it.

For Dreamcast shooting import, I like:

    Border Down
    Under Defeat
    Zero Gunner 2
    Radirgy
    Rez

I kinda like it, its not awesome, I'll give you that. Psyvariar 2 is a good one, but Shikigami no Shiro 2 got a US release on ps2 as Castle Shikigami 2.

Border down is a must have. I have a burned copy, since the original is scarce, and when it appears, its always over US $100. Its the only shooter I cannot finish. I can't imagine doing a 1cc run of it.

Next to the Saturn, the Dreamcast probably has the best line of shooters.

As for US releases, heres is a must have list:

Fatal Fury Mark of the Wolves
    Mars Matrix
    Marvel Vs. Capcom
    Marvel Vs. Capcom 2
    Sonic Adventure
    Shenmue
    Grandia II
    Power Stone
    Power Stone 2
Giga Wing- can still find these new on ebay for about $25
    Giga Wing 2
    GunBird
    The Last Blade 2
    Capcom vs. SNK
    Gunbird 2
    Project Justice
    Cannon Spike

Is it just me or do we do this thread every six months like clockwork?

Here are my additional picks for games that aren't shooters or fighters.

    Frame Gride
    Get Colonies
    Tetris 4D
    Zusar Vasar
Currently catching up on PSN, WiiWare, Wii U E-Shop and Xbox Live Arcade exclusives I missed.
