I've been wanting to get my hands on this game, but I want to know, is it it's own game, or is it a rehash of an existing Doom? To date I've only played Doom & Final Doom on PSone.

Oh no! The truck have started to move!!
Doom 64 has different levels than any pc Doom. One thing I liked about it is I played thru the pc Dooms years ago, but when I picked up Doom 64 I could have fun all over again without feeling like I been there done that.
Here's another related question - have these levels been ported to the PC? I'd like to play them.
Theres a wad that actually that you could play on pc with all the doom 64 levels.
U GAIZ JUST DONT LIKE CHANGE , (builds a artificial foundation here)
Only thing that sucks about Doom 64 is that it's TOO DAMN DARK! Even with the brightness turned all the way up... Ugh... I guess it's not too bad at night in the pitch dark. But during the day, it's damn near like trying to play Doom blindfolded. Still a cool game though. I remember how excited I was when I saw a screenshot of Doom 64 on the Cover of Gamefan. I was like, "oh shit, Doom + N64 = THE SHIT!" This was back in early 1996 when the N64 was being UBER hyped. N64 still rocks though. :P
Doom 64 is pretty good. The enemy sprites all look interesting - I'm not sure if I like them less or more than the original, but they do look interesting.
Although why Doom 64 doesn't have splitscreen multiplayer I'll never know.
It's definitely different enough to justify getting it.
The maps, graphcs, audio, and engine are all unique, and I think it has a different end boss and a secret alien weapon.
Doom 64 is a really fun Doom title. Only problem is that the levels are too dark even after you turn the brightness to its max.

It's alright, and for the current going rate why not. If you're into FPS games then be sure to check out Quake 1 and 2 on the N64. I just find myself more of a Doom and Quake fan over 007, Jetforce, and Perfect Dark (but they all have their redeeming qualities).

Doom 64 was excellent at the time and still fun for old-school doom fans. My personal favorite one player FPS on N64. Good lighting and music made for an excellent ambiance.
Mekka-lekka hi, mekka-hinney-hoh
Thanks fellers. I'll see if I can seek a copy out.
