Default Para Para Paradise vs. Dance Maniax

Well, which do you prefer, and why?

I'd go for DMX myself. PPP is just too friggin' easy, and the song list doesn't really grab me. Besides, there aren't any 2 player or Double modes on PPP. Heh.

    What he said.

Mainly because of the song selection.

Boom Boom Fire Vs. Afronova Primeval?
Go Godzilla Go Vs. Mobo Moga?
Night of Fire Vs. PARANOiA Jazzy Groove? ^_^

Well, aside from the fact that ParaPara totally sucks and has a songlist that consists of naught but the most grating and oppressive Eurobeat trash known to man, there's also the fact that one of the most humiliating experiences of my life took place on a ParaPara machine. So yes, my vote goes to DMX. Which rocks enough on its own anyway.

The difficulty on DMX is so much higher than PPP... (although DMX is still relatively easy).

Again... the songlist is just so much better. How many songs from PPP have made it into other games? How many songs from DMX have? There ya go.

Para Para is fun when you learn the para's, its not as technical as DMX, and DDR.

... I'm too tall for DMX anyway.

Heh, yeah, for DMX I ususally have to squat like a sumo. It's even worse for Double mode. :-) It's still fun as hell, though.

Another thing with PPP is that the sensors are a bit buggy sometimes. It's quite a chore to make the holds actually register from beginning to end. I usually have to flail my arm around under the sensor like a freak. DMX usually misses a note for me now and then, though, which is why it's impossible to clear the Extra Stage, which is really quite easy stuff. Argh.

    Speaking of Para...

Has anyone played the Korean rip off of PPP? Supposedly our arcade is getting one this month, and I really hope it isn't as awful as I think it'll be. Then again, the second Korean version of DDR 3rd Mix was actually better than the Japanese version. Hmm...

You mean the Korean Para Para Dancing variant? I never got a chance to play it myself. The arcade in Parmatown Mall sold theirs before I could get my hands on it. It's probably just as good as the other Korean localizations, meaning there are a few songs missing, but it still plays just as well, and there's lots more English.
