    Default Commodore 1541 Disk Drive

Does anyone know what this thing is worth?

    Thanks.

I wouldn't think it'd be worth much. I see them somewhat regularly at the local Goodwill. With the power cable and the C64 to DD cable, you may get $20 for it if it's in great shape and you can find someone with a C64 who doesn't already have one hooked up. It'll be a tough sell.

I would say about $10-15 unless your Flack. I believe he has enough to supply every man, woman, and child in the US. Me, I think I only have about 5 of them left.

Maybe that can be his '08 campaign slogan.

"A Commodore 64 in every house and a 1541 drive for every Commodore 64!"
"I am a cipher, wrapped in an enigma, smothered in secret sauce."

You can't really tell the true value of a 1541 until it's been checked for alignment and maintenance. Untested? $10 tops. Tested and working/cleaned? $25.

A 1571 is a better bet, but a 1581, if you can get it, is the best. Those don't need a special cable to transfer disk images, but do need special programs.
