    Default Rate my Collection

This is my complete console game collection. I have a handheld collection as well, but only the console games are pictured.

    ^^^ what he said.

I mean, do you have a bigger goal or are you happy with what you have? It's a rather subjective question. I think you need more SNES games, but that's because I'm a SNES junkie. Others will surely have their own opinions.

Well, to be frank, if you're trying to impress people with the number and selection of games you have, I doubt you'll receive much of a positive response here. If on the other hand, you're focused solely on gathering fun games that you want to play, then it's a whole different matter. Some people in these forums have humongous collections that include complete mint copies of games (not just loose carts with torn labels) and true rarities (which can sometimes be real duds, game-wise, but are valuable due to their low production numbers).

At least, if you are just starting to collect games and need pointers, you'll find many people here who can guide you with advice.

Oh, and by the way, it's good form to introduce yourself first before posting around. You'll find that Introduce yourself! thread in the top of this sub-forum (Classic Gaming).

A decent start, reminds me of my first 6 months collecting games. You have a long road ahead, but you will get there eventually. Like others have asked, what exactly are your goals? If you don't have any specific goals, which system do you prefer to collect for?

For me, a huge part is presentation, and that is pretty lacking in your collection. Maybe get a jump on things and grab a shelving system to start getting those carts and whatnot neatly placed

    Pretty much this.
How long have you been collecting? I ask because I didn't start "collecting" my games until the very late 90s. Before then I would buy, sell, and buy others. Once I began earning disposable income in my teen years, I flea marketed more frequently and stopped cannibalizing my collection for the sake of new games (so many NES and Genesis games I regret selling now, but I digress), so my collecton grew quite rapidly.

Not seeing a lot that's particularly rare/valuable here (though you do have a few good'uns like SoM), but keep at it, check out yard sales, flea markets, thrifts, etc vigilantly and you'll come across deals like the fabled $1 CIB Crusader of Centy or $5 Earthbound... they do happen, trust me!
Of course as others have said, to get the most enjoyment, you should collect what you want to play, not necessarily what you think will net you a buck or two down the road. Best of luck in your endeavors!

It's not that bad, as long as you are happy with the games within it, that's the main thing.

    First, welcome to the forum.

I think it is obvious that he is new to collecting and this forum, and just wanted to share what he has, because he is excited about it.

I think you have a great start there in my opinion. I looked through the games and the majority of them are quite enjoyable games to play. I really like that Bomberman cart you have there

I don't really have any goals. I just collect whatever I can find. If I see a review for a game on Youtube or something and I think it looks good, I'll buy it. I've been collecting for awhile, since I got my NES I guess, which was years ago. When I go hunting I usually have a specific game in mind. I am trying to collect all the Tengen carts (with the exception of Tengen Tetris since its super rare and super expensive.) so I guess that's kinda a goal.

Aaah, didn't notice that was your first post. Welcome to the forums! In regards to your quest for Tengen Tetris, it is findable outside ebay (again, trust me ). Good luck!

Great collection. What are those unique cases on your Dreamcast games?

Also, did you sacrifice gyromite, or is it ready to reassemble?

yea considering it goes for about 50-60 bucks loose can't be extremely hard.

Like wigglyx said, they are cover project printouts. I always wanted my Dreamcast games in DVD cases.

    Gyormite is ready to reassemble.

Oh, I also have Mega Man X2 for SNES, it's just in the SNES at the moment.

EDIT: After seeing Collector_Gaming's sig, I've started adding my games to RF Generation. Can someone explain this oval seal and round seal thing for NES games? I can't seem to find a difference.

see how on that cartridge the seal stamp that says "Official NINTENDO Seal of Quality" is in a oval shape?

then see how the same seal on this cart is now round or circle shape?

also theres the pesky 5 screw and 3 screw variations but unless your one of those super crazy collectors who cares.

    Wink

Rating your collection is tough to ask a bunch of gaming playin' and collectin' geeks (like us) to do.

To be honest, I must agree, that to ask this to "us" a subjective question as this, would be similar to questioning someone whether green is a better color than blue, or if pizza is good as food.

They are both nice colors, and pizza, yes, is good as a food, and your collection is, as well nice.

It is fun to do (addictive one might even say)... you have great games, and it is a nice collection. How to use the term rate here though is the challenge.

Have fun collecting and playing and visiting here and posting here.

It is (life) after all all about having fun cause' you only get one shot on this big ole' rock, and you might as well enjoy it.

    Cheerio

More like $30-$50 loose if you're patient. I've passed on some copies in person for around $25-$50 over the years as I don't want to pay that much. I'm still waiting to find a copy for $5 or less.

I've bought bigger lots on CL then what you have in your entire collection.
