    Default RetroDuo Video Color Fix

Well, today after coming home from work, I decided to give my RetroDuo some play time....After playing a few NES games I clearly noticed the awful and washed out video color that everyone has been complaining and talking about.....I didn't liked the SNES s-video output color either, too dark to my liking, so it was modding time.

The Retro Duo NES side video color is now very close to the official NES video output color (although, there are a few faint background lines, very common on most NOAC's), and the RD SNES/SFC s-video color is identical as an official SNES s-video output.....

So ... what did you do?

Were there pots that you manipulated?

Did you need to de/resolder stuff?

Is this an adjustment that anybody could do to their Duo?

It's great that you "did" it ... but I'm sure others would like to know how.

Oh yeah, my bad....Yes, it is fairly easy to do actually...For the NES video color fix only a Resistor is needed and a cap needs to be replaced with a higher value one.....Also, I've found something very strange while at it, the whole RetroDuo runs with Audio ground, and this gives the NES composite video some ground noise during game play ....A clear example, when running the NES side, unplug both Audio jacks (Red/white) for cleaner video, maybe you guys can notice this....I'll try to isolate this issue soon and post more info.

Try better shielded cables? Maybe Monster brand?

I'm afraid is more than a shielding issue, its more like a badly NES board design.....Now, I understand why they decided to go very light on the NES color, to hide this issue, but with a bit more of resistance, it can clearly be seen...
And btw, I have re-done all of this modification entirely....Man that Retro Duo Samsung Encoder can produce a much better s-video and RGB with little effort...Also, since the manufacturer decided to combine the NES and SNES composite video without any logic switch chip, this directly causes a weird interference to the SNES side encoder (not a good thing in the long run)....Its better to split them apart...
