Default Sears Video Arcade II - Video issue - Switches between color and black/white

My systems will intermittently switch between color and black and white. It isn't a quick flicker between the two, but it will be color for a little while, maybe 30 minutes, then maybe next time I go to play it will start black and white. Then it might switch back to color.

Before I crack it open to take a peek inside, does anyone have an idea what the issue might be?

    Something in the color circuitry...

You can at least rule out the COLOR/B&W switch by playing a late-era game that isn't programmed for it.

On the inside, I'd probably suspect the color phase adjustment pot first.

The voltage regulator would be my first suspect. Possibly the power supply could be a problem as well.

FAB & Mitch, thanks for the tips.

I actually figured out the problem, and it wasn't the Sears Video Arcade II; the TV that was broken! I figured I would bump this as a reminder for people to never assume the equipment you are using to test something is fully functional!
