Question How do I tell what kind of PSP I have?

I got a PSP off a friend of mine for $40, and it works, but it needs a new battery.

But I'm not sure which kind it needs, because I don't know if it's the newer or older model.

I think it's the older one, but I can't tell for sure.

any help would be much appreciated.

The original has a textured black backside and the battery/opposite side has a slight outward curve. The PSP 2000/3000 both have glossy flat backsides.

    Thanks.

I think that means I've got an older one.

Also, I took out the battery, and on the PSP it says: "PSP-1001".

You can also find the model number on the sticker that's stuck on the bottom edge of the PSP.
