Hello everyone. Many of you here may not know me but I am a regular member and moderator on the Benheck.com forums. If you are familiar with that website then you know that it's a community based around making small portable units from video game consoles, much like a GameBoy. I will soon be done with my latest project - a portable Super Nintendo that uses the SNES section of a Retro Duo for a (relatively) small, energy sipping portable. It has rubber membrane switches for the buttons so you still get that classic SNES squishy button feel.

The worklog for this portable can be seen here. The case is completely finished, and all that remains to be done is wiring up the electronics. The case has a dark blue front with a bone gray back. The ABXY buttons are a nicely-contrasting red.

The whole system is powered off of lithium polymer batteries, and the portable will come with a smart charger that recharges the batteries in a couple of hours. Typical gameplay time is around 5 hours on a single charge. This portable also has a 5" LCD screen, player 2 port, a headphone jack, and an AV out jack.

This is a quick picture of the case. There are many more pictures to be found in the worklog.

For the price of $350 and one Retro Duo, I can have a portable Super Nintendo in your hands within two weeks. Interested?

Here is a link to my YouTube page with videos of some of the other portables I have made.

For a better idea of what this portable will look like when it is done, here are some pictures of a previous portable that this one is almost identical to:
