    The Karaoke Mode can technically still be accessed in RoboWarrior (by Jaleco, not Sunsoft), if you use a PAR or an emulator with RAM-editing capability.
    Though as you might guess, the karaoke screens will just be a graphics-glitch mess. It still runs, though.

    Wao, thanks for the link, I didn't know the Karaoke mode was still somewhere in the Robo Warrior ROM, this is fascinating
    Thanks also for pointing out the typo about Jaleco/SunSoft. As a side note, I'm still doing some research on all of this - I find really interesting that some of the staff on Bomber King is actually connected to Aicom (which, I believe, didn't exist in 1987). Did these employees later leave Hudson Soft to create/join Aicom? The Game Boy game does mention Aicom as well... to be continued

    Actually, Spanky's Quest might have removed the map because the backgrounds were switched.
    World 1 in Spanky's Quest used Jiro's tutorial world graphics, Spanky World 2 used Jiro regular World 1 graphics, etc.
    (though I haven't played both all the way through myself to say for sure)
    And from looking at your manual scan, I guess the evil witch's name was changed from Samantha to Morticia for some reason.

    That's a really good point... but still, they could have accommodated something instead of removing the whole thing... oooooooh well..... also, the western introduction sequence always puzzled me, I wonder why it was never included in the Japanese version (or did I miss it?). Maybe they couldn't complete it on time for the original release and decided to add it to the US/European versions (both version were release at least 6 months later, right?).

    It is correct that the password feature is for the easiest difficulty only (which skips much of the levels, including the bosses, and omits level 5 entirely). The higher settings expect you to finish in one sitting with limited continues.
    I think the US manual actually reuses the screenshots from the JP manual (definitely the level 4 screen with the typo "BOLL ON", which was actually corrected in the Japanese game. Yes, I quickly made the obligatory Photoshop).
    Level 2's auto-control section has a bug where the CPU is instructed to explicitly "push" the R button when it should've been instructed to "push" the Dash buttons (so you'll lose if you change the R button from its default setting). A bug that, from code analysis was probably only corrected in the Spanish PAL version (at least that was the case when I made a small patch to fix that in the JP, US and English PAL versions).

    Lovin your site, I've found quite a few obscure gems browsing through it. It would be even better if you actually had a second reviewers' opinion. There is a whole blank space there for every game, just itching to be filled...

    I believe yes. However, I didn't mention it in depth because I need to do more research - the Japanese SFC version has only two difficulty levels and both use passwords (as far as I can tell). This is interesting because, as you know, the US/EU release has three difficulty levels (Children,Normal & Challenge) - Challenge only gives you one heart and wasn't included in the SFC version... This is why it wasn't as straightforward as I thought, so I really need to do more research on this before I add the information to the site,,, awesome photoshop work by the way
    I didn't know Konami fixed the bug in the Spanish PAL version, this is very interesting indeed!!!!

    Thanks SparTonberry - yeah, I have tons of things going on right now, but I'll try to spend little bits of time here and there on the site. Fingers crossed.
