Little help With Xbox360 RROD please

Maybe he means when the Elite units launched.

Outside of buying a new Arcade unit and swapping the HDD, I don't see any point in NOT sending it back to MS for repairs.

Problem: if he's opened it to fix it himself, then he can't send it to MS -- they'll tell him he's effed with it and send it back.

Sorry, I meant to say I bought an Elite when IT was launched. Sorry about the confusion. I can't send it back to microsoft because I already opened it, the warranty is void now. I was just hoping someone might have had some tips on this issue, ah well, its ok, thanks anyway everyone.
