Yep...it's basically a plug in memory card for the Duo. However, it's hard to use due to the heavy japanese menus. Works tho!

so can you use it to save your progress in games and stuff?

Yes, on games that can save. It's basically a bigger memory than the one on the Duo. Very handy if you save a lot of games and can use it. I THINK it works with US games too if you can navigate the menus. As you may know, the US Duo and CD-ROM2 have TINY memory slots. In fact, one game of Vasteel is about all my Duo will hold! *sob*
