Default Buying a pc engine duo r , questions on imports and us games

I need a 2nd duo cause I want to keep other us cd units in good shape for years. So Im looking for a cheaper 2nd duo that could worry less about breaking down with years of use . Im looking at the pc engine duo r and it seems like a perfect fit , however I know I can play my us and japanese cd games on it, but what about my collection of american hucard games? Is there a way to play us hucard games on a pc engine duo r? If I want to do that I just have to resort to getting a pc engine duo r modded?

You'll have to mod it or try and find an adapter. Or just keep a US turbo hooked in for those US cards.

Except the adapters don't work on Japanese systems!

You will have to modify the system with a switch so that the region-lock doesn't occur.

Its better honestly to just get a TG-16 for the US games. Less of a PITA, and less $$ in the end probably. Unless you find a nice person who wants to mod it cheap.

You will have no problems playing US CD games on the Japanese system though..
