Default Collection and new guy here o/'

    Hi all,

This is my first post here and I've been dragged here because of the discussion about psx long boxes. But this I'll comment on another topic.

I've been collection games for almost a 1 now.
A video store closed down near my house them my collection grow a lot!

My question is, do you guys collect complete games ? I mean complete in box ?

All my games are in box, but not all of them have manuals.
Games that are cartridge only I don't really consider a collection.
    Am I wrong ?

What do you guys think ?

Oh and I'm talking about Genesis, Nes, Snes, atari collection.

Welcome to the forums, General Murdock!

This question gets asked quite a bit and there is no right or wrong answer.

Some people collect only complete items and then on the other hand, there are others who think the boxes just take up space so they only collect the games themselves.

I think most people fall somewhere in the middle. They may want a certain game or system complete, but for the most part, they just enjoy collecting.

As long as you are enjoying your hobby that is the most important thing.

Not entirely sure but I'd say Joe (the owner and founder) could probably lay claim to that title. Some users have upwards of 15,000 games or more. All very impressive stuff.

I reject your reality and substitute it for one of my own!

For me it depends on the system if I'm gonna go for the game being complete. Genesis/Mega Drive, Master System and all CD based systems I go for complete but Famicom/NES and SNES/SFC I don't because it's harder and cost a good bit more for complete copies. Turbografx games I don't bother trying to get the outer boxes either cause it's a pain and really expensive for that one.

As I'm from Brazil, the only way to put my hands on games are tough ebays or sometimes popular markets but that doesn't happen very often.

Are you saying genesis is cheaper them SNES ?
Or PSX, Neo Geo CD, cd based system are cheaper them SNES ?

I really would like to know more, because I sometimes get snes games complete for 2-3 dollars in ebay. The same for NES games.
But I payed 30-40 dollars for Final fantasy 7 on ps1.

Do you collect cd based systems with boxes or just the games ?

How much is cheap for you for a complete game ?
