I take a lot of flack because Zelda II was my favourite Zelda game in the series... LttP is a close second.

Then again, I also loved Wind Waker for exactly the same reason a lot of people hated it - I *liked* cruising the open seas for hours at a time and exploring.

I always loved the postal series even though it got like an average of 4.0 out of 10 by every reviewer.

Night Creatures is completely broken and there's more or less only one correct path through the game that you have to figure out for yourself. I original beat it on a dare, but learned to really appreciate it for what it is. It's very satisfying to finish such a challenging game and the SotN aspect makes it much more enjoyable than something like Impossamole.

Here's proof that it can be done-

I also enjoyed Rambo NES once I figured it out. similar to night Creatures, there didn't seem to be much direction in such a non-linear game, but once I got on the right path it was very cool.

Not quite classic, but I love Sonic 06 (Sonic's 1st appearence on 360 and PS3).

    Castlevania Adventure and Castlevania Legends

A lot of people, even Castlevania fans dislike Adventure, even more dislike Legends. These games are both very very good platformer titles but considering how good the earlier level based titles are, a lot of people are a lot harder on these two games than other platformer games that are praised yet not as good.

Castlevania Adventure is all due to stage 3. Easily the hardest stage in the game as soon as you get to the part where you have to out run the spikes. Every action has to be near perfect.

Castlevania Legends has trap candles. Now I can't see why people complain about them because the trap candles are clearly noticeable as white candles while the others are colored dark. Other people dislike how Sonia Belmont steals Trevor's spot as the first Belmont to defeat Dracula and the inclusion of Alucard and both of them having a kid together. I don't consider the game canon, but nothing stops me from playing the game. A good game is a good game.
Everything in the above post is opinion unless stated otherwise.

Fester's Quest. It's hard, but it's so hard to beat that I cannot stop playing. Then again, I do use the Advantage for turbo, but it's still addictively hard.

Well, that's because Zelda II is the best Zelda game in the series. All the other Zelda installments are really good but Zelda II is just awesome! But I'm sure I feel that way because of my love fore side scrolling RPGs.

I love how you gain experience and can level up and learn magic spells. I also like the difficulty level. I always find the game tough... very tough, but never frustrating.

It has solid graphics, a great assortment of items, an excellent OST and memorable characters. (Wait's for our very own ERROR to post!)

Zelda II is even awesome for it's imperfections. The game has some of the best glitches I've seen. Like the glitch in the town Darunia. That one is crazy, where is starts combining different towns together.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

A few games I really like that seems to be disliked by most:

    NES
    Yo! Noid
    Chiller (arcade version as well)

    TG16
    Yo' Bro!

    Jaguar
    Fight for Life

    Gameboy
Wizards & Warriors X - Fortress of Fear

    Genesis
    Ballz
    Pit-Fighter

    Playstation
    Blast Chamber

    Saturn
    Criticom

    Laseractive
    Rocket Coaster

Just a few that came to mind, but there are quite a few more. There are a lot of games out there that have a ton of charm and are a blast to play, but may not be perfect...

Eternal Champions for Sega Genesis. Why does everyone hate that game? I really like it.

Castlevania Adventure had a slight upgrade for the Konami Game Boy Compilation. Besides the gaudy color palette, your character's walking speed was increased. Unfortunately, it wasn't released in America.

There's also the recent WiiWare remake, with nicely detailed, but recycled, art.

There's a video floating somewhere about the differences between the US and japanese versions of Fester's Quest. The Famicom's got tweaked gameplay, and is apparently much more fun to play.

Fester's Quest is awesome stuff, people blow the difficulty out to be worse than it really is.

The problem with Eternal Champions, for me at least, was it had terrible control. It just wasn't tight or fine tuned, now the Sega CD upgrade I thought was actually playable and fun.

I tried many times to like this game. I must have played it three or four times, but never liked it. I agree it should have been better. It did start off good.

I could consistently get to the final boss without dying, but could never beat it. Even with turbo, it was impossible.

It was a good game up until that point. Although the boss battles had the same problem as Blaster Master. They took forever. I don't know why they thought it was cool to have the boss take 9234900 hits before dying.

Although it is not hated, I love SaGa Frontier for the PS1, which many people dislike. I think it is one of the best RPGs on the PSX behind Final Fantasy and Suikoden.

I also enjoy Adventures of Dino Riki on the NES. It is a game that puts many off with its high difficulty.

That is all that I can think of for now.

Oh, and I also enjoy Dragon's Lair for the NES. That is the big one that most people hate, but I love. It is so original and challenging. However, I think that, for many people, it is a very cryptic, unfriendly game.
