Default Space Fantasy Zone proto ?...

I've purchased this 'proto' of Space Fantasy Zone a couple of weeks ago and I was wondering if someone here had something similar to it.
It's definitively a CD-R (not pressed) and it is old (the CD is yellowish and the label feels old). Also, the print on the cover comes from (I believe) one of the flyer available at the time. I made a TOC and it is different than the ISO and bootlegs currently available...
I've heard that CD-Rs were floating around in the 1990s. Were they legit NEC copies or done by someone who owned the real deal ?
    Thanks for your help

Looks to be a bootleg. There's no markings for internal testing or anything on the disc, and because CD-Rs could be bought at a few retail places back then, I'm guessing it's a fake. Still a good find, though.

I have one of those too and it is totally different than this one... even the TOC is different.

I've heard of CD-Rs being made back in the 90s - would someone know if they were done by a collector or someone from NEC for external testing/reviewing ?

Yours looks alot like mine. My copy was sourced in the late 90's/early 00's from Victor Villano's old Yahoo Turbo group. The story is worth going out of your way to read up on. The Cliff Notes version is that a member of the Yahoo group made friends with an ex NEC employee. The Yahoo group member then offered up *free* copies to those members of the group that wanted one.
