Default PSP LCD Vertical Pixel Distortion?

I've been playing Ys Seven for some time, and I noticed a few hours ago that a faint group of lines, all together, has appeared. It does not distort the picture at first, but made the colors faint a bit. This is similar to when you play GameGear games on a GG that has screen issues.

It wasn't that bad, so I thought nothing of it. But now, that same group/column of pixels have a tendency to repeat the right portion next to it, similar to when you see a shattered glass that you see the same image over and over.

I know many will say to replace the screen, but:

1)What is the best place to get it that is NOT Dealextreme?

2)What is causing this exactly? A capacitor? Voltage issues on the screen itself?

3)Does a PSP 3000 replacement LCD work in a PSP 2000 (first version, which is what I have)?

    Thanks in advance.

    Update:

Distortion is more of a "static" issue, then progressed to this:

    Any ideas?
