    Default Seems like another console...

Have you ever played a game for a particular console, a game that seemed as if it belonged on another console?

Yesterday, after 23 years, I finally found a copy (no label, but not important) of Imagic's Wing War for the ColecoVision.

It's an unusual game, with weird graphics. But they, especially with the way the dragon looks, reminds me of an Intellivision game.

In fact, I can easily imagine playing an Intellivision game when playing it.

I'm not talking about "rotten" games on advanced systems that make you say "man, these graphics are so bad, it's like a 2600 game!"

I mean games that literally seem as though you're playing a different console.
Interesting stuff, here (COMPLETELY unbiased opinion, hehhehheh):

At the time, Batman: Return of the Joker for NES felt like a Genesis game. It wow'd the shit out of me, as it was quite impressive for it's time.

I'm not sure why, but Air Fortress for NES feels a 16-bit game to me. Likewise, I can also name quite a few Mega Drive games that look and feel like a Master System game.

Also, Road Rash for GBC reminded me of the Game Gear ports (graphics) and the Commodore 64 (the C64 demo-sounding music.)

M.U.L.E., Ballblazer, Castelian, and Conan for the NES all felt like 8-bit home computer games. Which, of course, they were.

TMNT fighting game for NES plays better than most 16-bit fighters.

Wow! Wing War looks amazing! Thanks for sharing that link.

Also thanks to someone else here who linked to Space Encounters in the arcade - amazing stuff.

Well, the Colecovision wasn't that much dissimilar from the NES/Famicom, and used the same CPU as the SMS. I always though Castlevania III looked really advanced for the NES, and Crisis Force, a Konami Famicom game, really looked 16-bit.
