Default Consoles Getting Crysis After All

No, not Crysis 2 but the original PC destroying version. It's always been said that the original Crysis wouldn't be able to be ported to the current generation consoles because they were apparently not powerful enough(which is quite obvious in the Wii's case) to handle it. But it looks like that is about to change.

I'm pumped because this is one of the few pc exclusive fps games that I've wanted to be ported to consoles so I could play it. Right now theres no word on rather this will be a full retail release or a DLC release like the recent port of the original American McGee's Alice. I'm hoping it's a retail release but I'd be mildly content with a DLC release. I just hope that they add all the expansions(I believe there were two) that the pc version got.

    Um, what.

The PC version didn't get any proper expansions... Crysis Warhead & Wars were released in a standalone package that didn't require the original Crysis to run. Both games share the same engine and some assets with the original game, but they don't need Crysis to work.

Also, Warhead is single player, while Wars is multiplayer. It would make sense to include all three items in one package, but this smells of milking to me. And the game is kinda big to be downloadable... I think it's like 10 GB total on PC.

Eh, not interested. Wars was the better game than Crysis. I stand by that assertion.

Well Crysis alone makes me happy. It would be nice if they threw all three in the same package but I think this will be a stand alone package(especially since I thought the other two were expansions). But if it does well they may release Crysis: Warhead at a later date.

Crysis was originally slated for 360 when Microsoft was in talks with Crytek but it fell through. I've alredy beaten the game to death but I'm interested in seeing if it's successful or a failure from a technological point.

i wouldnt know and i cant be sure, but i think i heard from a friend or read online or someshit that crysis 1 actually looked better maxed out than crysis 2 did maxed out, is that true? anyone know?

i believe it had something to do with crysis 2 not taking advantage of direct x 11 or something or maybe even it being held back due to it also being released on consoles....me wants an answer....NAO

Crisis 2 has a direct x 11 patch now, but when I turn it on it fucks up the frame rate...badly. I can't even tell what it's supposed to be improving. I just built my pc, with 2 nvidia geforce 580 cards linked via sli, an intel i7 6-core cpu, so it should run great. I think its not properly optimized for the game.

That may be why crisis 1 looks better, but I'm not sure.

And for the record, while it does look amazing (the draw distance is just unreal), it's not that great of a game. It's fun, but nothing revolutionary.

It has to be your rig settings.

I'm running Crysis 2 near maxed out (1920 x 1080) with an Intel Q9650 @ 3.3 Ghz and (2) GTX 460s in sli. I have the 460s OC to 800 Mhz core clock. The game look great, but there is a problem with sli with this game, where the light sourcing sort of messes up, but it only occured on a level or two. I never really experienced a huge drop in frame-rate, except for the very smokey areas that have a lot of particle effects.

It doesn't do very much, and what it DOES do it does badly.

It's doing bizarre things like adding polygons to flat surfaces and rendering water underneath land. It seems to be trying really hard to prove that it's doing SOMETHING with all that DirectX 11 processing power, just not anything useful.

I wish they could utilize DX11 to deliver the same great graphics, just with better performance.

Hopefully if this game sells well they will release the follow up Crysis: Warhead.

I don't see why they couldn't bundle Crysis and Warhead together.

I doubt EA will add multiplayer to the game, bundling both for $20 would've made much more sense.
