Default Question About DP Guide "Relative Rarity"

For the sake of argument, are all R4s equally "rare" across the boards? What I mean is, is an Atari R4 just as rare as a Genesis R4, or are the rarities only consistent within each individual system? It seems to me for example, that practiaclly ANY NES R1 is going to pop up more than any Intellivision R1.

    Thoughts?

Certainly not. It is all relative in my opinion. An R1 C64 cart, whilst still being pretty piss common, holds nothing to the banner that Combat, Pacman and the such like would go under. Likewise in many cases the R8 and R9 carts for the C64 are much, much rarer than 2600, in some cases only 1 or 2 copies are known about.

Well, yeah. that's how I feel too. But since many of us use the DP guide as a "common ground" in our dealings, I'd like to know how they actually intend for it to be.
