Default The most common SNES games I encounter.

I buy and resell lots of games on Ebay, and here is a list of SNES games that I always come across. It seems like whenever I buy a lot of games from someone, the following games are almost always in there:

    Batman Forever
any of the Madden Football games.
    Frogger
    Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures
    Wheel of Fortune: Deluxe Edition
    Scooby Doo Mystery
    Clue
    Super Mario World (obviously)
    Super Black Bass
    Family Feud

I baffles my mind why so many people had these particular games in their collections (other than Mario World of course). What's also interesting is the SNES version of Frogger came out in 1998 when the system was already dead and people had moved on to the Playstation and Nintendo 64...yet the game still ended up in a bunch of people's collections.

Perhaps many people bought Frogger because retailers put them on clearance almost immediately? Or maybe alot of unsold stock hung around stores for a long time.

Pac-Man 2, and Clue were among the Majesco reissues in the late 1990's, which is responsible, in part, for how common they are. I'm sure a significant number that you come across are in Majesco cartridge casings with the back sticker missing with the information instead molded into the plastic. Perhaps even the majority of them.

They might've even reissued the other third party games you listed. But they didn't interest me in the late 90's like things like Super Battleship, Jungle and Urban Strike (They only reissued Desert Strike with the other two for the Genesis, for some reason), Top Gear, and many others did that I picked up in those days.

Super Black Bass is still the best fishing game ever made.

Yes, not only is the back sticker missing on them...but the front label is of obvious lower quality than other SNES games as well. I remember when I bought a brand new copy of Earthworm Jim 2 on the SNES back in 2000 that was on clearance at Toys R Us for only $9.99...it was like this too, and the booklet was black and white instead of being in color.

At least Pac-Man 2 is easy to find. EVERYBODY needs to play that game.

My own CIB is the original, not some effing re-issue, and nobody is ever getting their hands on it!

I remember spilling a tiny drop of water on the label of my Frogger cart. The label came right up. Would've never happened with the high quality glossy labels used during most of the run (The Player's Choice releases done by Nintendo during that same time thankfully stayed the same as they always were, high quality labels and full color manuals).

I don't remember any clearances in the late 90's/early 2000's for the Majesco rereleases around here. They seemed to stay at $19.99 until they were gone. Picked up a good number of them for both the Genesis and the SuperNes during those days.

Never did get Majesco's Frogger for the Genesis until recent years. Sure beats the SuperNes effort mentioned in this thread.

I bought gobs of them from the Toys R Us I worked at when they dropped in price to $4.97-$1.98. For SNES: two Star Wars games, Wario's Woods, Risk, Super Castlevania IV, and a few others. Super Tennis was 97 cents. I can remember when we had "dump bins" filled with them, and a handful of Mario RPG for $19.97 (of course I didn't buy any because they "cost too much"!!).

For Genesis, I remember Frogger, Clue, Castlevania: Bloodlines, Jeopardy, Risk, Super Battleship. There were more, but I can't recall.

When we finally got rid of our final Game Gear stock, the systems were $9.97 and all games were 97 cents!

I have found several of the Scooby Doo and Black Bass games through the years. I have got them several times in lots I have bought.

Everybody? I don't think I'd wish for anyone to have to play Pac-Man 2, it's just that bad!

I see Toy Story often, actually a lot of Disney games. And of course Star Fox.

I totally agree about the Madden Football games, but I also buy boxes of games from EBAY, and I've never seen Frogger, Scooby Doo Mystery, Clue, or Super Mario World at all!

The boxes I buy come from a warehouse in Miami, Florida, so maybe that's why?

The ones I see constantly are:

    Championship Pool
    Mario Paint
    NBA Live 95
    NBA Showdown
    NCAA Basketball
    NHL 94
    NHL Stanley Cup
    Super Caesars Palace
    Super Nes Super Scope 6
    Super Play Action Football
    Vegas Stakes

And Mario Paint is the most common by far!

I think it's weird that retro game stores always have Mario Paint and the Super Scope game but never have the mouse or super scope.

This reminds me, has anyone EVER saw the non-majesco re-issue of Super Godzilla?

I think that game used to be rare in it's original release up until the Majesco re-release because of the 98 movie, after all it was licensed by Toho, and i expect that game to be in the same vein as Super Aleste.

F-Zero seems to always pop up. Seems one of the most common SNES games.

I think Mario Paint and the SS6 cart as up without the parts people people are stupid and destructive. SS6 is huge so that's an easy one to break parts off of rendering it annoying to useless and the mouse you could jack the cord up or just easily lose it.

Variman's list is pretty spot on, though I think it's fair to say very often Pac-Man 2 pops up as well.

This thread brought back some memories. I remember paying 5 for Super Star Wars Return of the Jedi from Meijer in the fall of 2000. They also had Frogger (Snes) for 10 and non majesco releases like Prime Time Football Starring Dion Sanders and SF 2: Special Champ Ed for 1.00!

In the summer of 99, my brothers and I bought Jungle Book (Majesco), Top Gear (Majesco) and Zelda (Player's Choice) from Best Buy. Can't remember the prices though.

On the last day of summer before entering 4th grade (fall 2000) I bought Tiny Toons: Buster's Hidden Treasure for 5 from Toys R Us. I also remember them having Castlevania: Bloodlines and of course, a bin full of 5 dollar GG re-releases!
