Default Knowledge Base, or We Want a Wiki!

Digital Press had a hardware F.A.Q. a while ago that contained vast stores of knowledge about various game consoles and hardware. The software used was called phpMyFAQ and we still have its database.

My question is, should we bring back this software, leave things as they are, or implement a wiki? I see a lot of redundancy with the questions and answers by having it forum-only, and a lot of repeat questions were asked when we had phpMyFAQ because people seemed like they couldn't find the answers in the pages. So I think a wiki would be best. We could even have editors be invite-only so that only trusted members of the forum could edit it.

Please let me know what you think by voting and commenting. Thanks!

I did find the knowledge base format a bit convoluted and tangled at times. Some things I found immediately and others I quit not sure whether what I was seeking was not in the DB or I just couldn't find it. That said...

I believe the wiki format and layout would benefit utility and reduce redundancies the most. Wiki's are designed for open edits, and if an entry gets vandalized, you have past vetted versions to re-up. Moderation in that environment is elastic and shouldn't present too many issues. If not open to all the internet (that at least I can understand) then at least open to the majority membership of the board. [citation needed] Like how certain parts of the forum don't become accessible until X condition... Well, that's my input on the matter.

Any local wiki editors/mods out there that cares to chime in? Perhaps there are issues that escaped my notice.

Aren't wikis easier? Would be cool to have a dedicated rarity/price wiki for games or something.
