Default Game Gear cart port dead?

Fixed up a Game Gear today, did the cap replacement, and the screen works great again. However, the cartridge port doesn't produce anything.

Tried the usual, cleaning the contacts and such, multiple games, etc. I'm not getting sound, although that could be the sound board. I'm unsure if that worked or not.

I will say there was some heavy corrosion inside. The guy lives in Texas so I'm assuming the salty air probably did a small number to the internals. I cleaned up what I could, and that said, from what I can see, the cart slot itself looks fine. All the solder joints look okay. Cleaning the port didn't bring up much of anything. Carts do slide into place a little easier than my own GG, so I suppose the pins could be bent too far.

Are there any other obvious things that could be wrong?

Are you not getting any video too or is it just the sound that's not working?

Sound is probably capacitor related, in fact people seem to find its capacitors have failed before the rest have.

Texas isn't exactly known to be a low corrosion area, especially if it was stored anywhere but inside of a house.
I fix things. You name it, I'll work on it. Want something modded? Recapped?

No video or sound. I know about the sound caps, but wasn't going to take the time to replace those until I could actually get something working.
