Fun Super Mario Bros. hacks

I was looking for some recommendations for some kickass Super Mario Bros. hacks. Any suggestions? If you suggest something, say why it is a worthwhile hack, too? Is it fun? Bizarre? Challenging?

im actually playing a fairly good one called mario and the 8 jewels or something like that for snes.
for nes theres mario adventure, which is an EXTREMELY modified mario 3.
brutal mario is good.
kaizo mario is fun to get your fiends to play
theres another SMW one, something about 7 golden statues.

Let me recommend the Super Mario Bros. Special hack based on the Hudson Soft version of the game.

Extra Mario Bros. is the most interesting one I've seen. It completely reworks the game into something of a Metroid-like with continuous open worlds, powerups, save points etc.

romhacking.net has tons of them. You have patch the roms yourself though.

Most emulators support ips patches directly, provided the file name matches that of the ROM.

Don't forget my "awesome" SMW hack (I also made a SMB hack, but it isn't 100% finished). You haven't lived until you have played it, beaten it, found Kolorado Koopa's treasure, found the 10 super secret levels, and found the secret Adults Only* hidden area.

* - Just a bunch of cuss words made of blocks with a pink sensual background. It is really hard to find, so no young'uns can access it. Actually the .ips floating around may have had this area removed. I don't remember. It is on my repro cart, so you'll have to come over to see it, or I just might bring it to the next CGE if I can attend.

My Favorites:

-Excite Mario Bros. (My #1 favorite at the moment, been playing it frequently and considering a repro cartridge) - Bizarre hack featuring characters from all of Nintendo's popular franchises.
-Supreme Mario Bros. - Just a kickass hack
-Mario XXXX - Crazy hack where different pipes and different routes lead to a vast array of levels, awesome soundtrack too (original tunes and borrowed)
-Mario Giabbit Hunting - An insane, challenging maze/puzzle like version of the classic game, this time Mario is in a Hanshin Tigers uniforms and hurls baseballs at Giabbits, mascot of the Yumiyuri Giants.
-Paper Mario Bros. - Not what you think, this is just a fun and challenging Japanese hack of the classic title
-Extra Mario Bros. - Well known hack, awesome
-Super Mario Unlimited - Awesome hack that came out recently
-Super Carrots - The Veggie Adventures (SMB 3 Hack) - Oddball hack where Mario and Luigi are now Carrot men in a land of Vegetables, like a completely new game, im surprised the pirates didnt make this one, really awesome and challenging hack!
-Mario Adventure (SMB 3 Hack) - Well known
-Luigis Chronicles 2 (SMB 3 Hack) - Well Known
-Super Mario Sisters - An oddball SMB 3 pirate hack where some of the levels are changed and Mario & Luigi are now female
