Default I Can't Remember that Damn Game!

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, I normally don't ask you to help me remember a game without providing crucial information, but this time I don't have much to aid you in your quest.

The game is a baseball game for a computer system (that I don't know either) that was around in the late 80's to early 90's. It was a two player game, and featured only two teams. The teams' uniforms were red and white, and blue and white respectively. Every three or four innings, either of the teams' cheerleaders would come out onto the field and entertain the crowd.

That is all I remember. I want to remember more but I can't.

    Here's what I know it's NOT:
    Color Baseball
    Computer Baseball

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks. A reward? Hmm... maybe.

Well there's a game called "The Slugger" (or World Series Baseball here in the UK) for C64 that matches that description. It could also be "Pete Rose Baseball" for 7800 I think...

    This is an easy one.

The Slugger by Mastertronic. I vividly recall thinking WTF?! when the cheerleaders appeared between innings. Mastertronic stuff was always good fun like that and often dabbled in the bizarre.

Yes, that's it! Hoo boy, you'd never believe the addiction me and my friends had to The Slugger. I was nine in 86' and that's when I first played it at a friend's house. Me, him, and two more of our friends played the game for 63 innings. We didn't budge from in front of the monitor (unless we needed more chocolate Quik and S'mores). Don't bother trying to find us on the playground during a pleasant spring afternoon on the weekend. You'd find us in front of The Slugger.

Thanks guys. It appears I have a new investment to look into.

I always liked the Slugger, I remember that you could change the uniform color... I would make them wear white uniforms, so all the players, and the cheerleaders on one team would be naked.

Yeah, great game! Mastertronic was excellent. I also remember loving a ninja game from them in the C64 days. Maybe simply called "Ninja"? I can't remember, but it was an excellent game! I wonder what ever happened to Mastertronic...

Yes, it was "Ninja". You had to make your way up though a palace to recover 6 idols, which would open a secret door in the topmost room. You'd jump in & fight at least 4 guys to get the 7th idol, then fall back down through the floors & return to the first screen.

The best part was being able to exit/re-enter a room to decrease the # of enemies in there. The music was the funkiest I'd ever heard in a game at that time!
