Stacking consoles?

Do any of you guys here stack your consoles on top of each other to save space? Is it typically safe to do so?
I'm trying to hook up my Wii, Gamecube (for the GB player and GC imports), and N64, and I am literally an inch short on space. I was going to lay the Wii on its side and put the GC on top of it (since I won't need the GC ports on the Wii anyway), with the N64 next to them.
Would this be a safe idea, or would that be bad for the Wii to have the GC on top?

Personally I don't stack consoles. I don't like the way it looks. Also I don't want to chance the tower of consoles falling over. I don't know if its bad for the systems, but I would imagine all of them stacked on top of each other, especially if all plugged in, could be a safety hazard. Also the GC while not in the weight class of the xbox, is still heavier than the Wii, I personally wouldn't stack it on top. Just as an example, my daughter put a plastic container of crayons and markers weighing about the same as a 360 on top of her dvd player in her room. After about a week when she tried playing DVD's it made a horrible noise and when it would play it would sound like it was rubbing on something. Over time the weight pushed down on the part that spins the dvd and when it spun it would rub against the top portion. Not saying this would happen with the Wii/Gamecube, but better safe than sorry.

I'm not concerned too much with them falling over, but that thing about pushing down on the parts inside the Wii is worrisome..

I agree. If you had to stack it would seem more safe for the Wii to be ontop of the GC. But I just would try to stay away from it all together.

I personally wouldn't do it with the Wii. It gets pretty dang hot, even when not in use, so I leave it its space. I do occasionally stack others, though, when it's reasonable to do so. I have my original PlayStation on top of my flat Japanese PS2. Let's me switch the cables back and forth easily so I don't need both hooked up. In the past, I've also stacked my original PlayStation on my NES just to save space.

I never stack my systems. Thats what a good entertainment stand/holder is for. If you lack the space for one of those with multiple compartments/shelves then you can just take that as a sign that you probably only need a few consoles hooked up at a time, whatever you are currently playing most. I can hold 10 different consoles in my entertainment center but as a rule try to never have more than 5 consoles hooked up at a time. Because realistically I won't be playing all my systems every single month.
