I have a 2007 Dell WFP (it does 720p). I wanted it because of its inputs: composite, s-video, VGA, DVI. I have a cheap A/V switchbox with composite and s-video. So on the Dell monitor I can play my NES, SNES (cheap multi-out A/V cable, using s-video), and Genesis. I splurged last year and had the Genesis modded for YPBPR component video (s-video had the infamous prison bars) and got a VGA convertor, and it looks fabulous (many thanks to a member here).
So we finally went modern and got a wii. Composite looks adequate but I want better. I can do s-video easily enough. But what about the VGA cables I've seen for wii? My YPBPR-->VGA converter has 1 set of component inputs, a VGA input, 1 VGA out. It's not very clear to me if this box could take two inputs - one YpBpr and one VGA, choose VGA, and that would that just pass through to the output. Is this feasible? Is VGA for wii good, or are these cables snake oil? Should I just go with s-video and be done with it? If I could find a converter with TWO YPBPR inputs and one VGA out, I would just get a wii component cable, but I can't find such a box.
