    Default Buffet in Vegas

I'd like to know everyone's experience, which do you recommend? Which would you discourage? Please, don't tell me foods are good at Plaza, I was ready to puke out their prime rib.

From what I heard the following are good:

    French Market at Orleans
    La Village at Paris
Garden Ct at Main St Station

    Anyone found better options?

I don't know of any of the nicer places; what I'm looking for are the .99 all you can eat lobster shops!

The plaza has the aforementioned steak for 3.95 (which I found fine - after a healthy dose of A-1), but what other fine dollar dining is there?

    My favourites are:

The Alladin - a little more money but the food is definitely the best quality. (eg. if you ask for orange or grapfruit juice, you get freshly squeezed juice - I personally didn't see that anywhere else)

Harrah's - a lot of good "American" southern food.

Mandalay Bay - really nice choices

I've heard the The Rio has the best buffet in Vegas. Period. Never hit it myself, though.

Best buffet: Aladdin's Spice Market Buffet
Best "fancy" buffet: Paris' Le Buffet
AVOID: Excalibur, Luxor, Holiday Inn, Sahara. They are bound to induce on-sight vomiting. But they are cheap, so you must weigh your options: puke, or spend a few extra bucks. It's all up to you!

I've heard that the Bellagio's buffet is world-class. My friend highly recommends it; they have seafood, steak, lobster omelettes, etc. It's $30, but supposedly it's unbelieveably good for buffet food.

This has nothing to do with Vegas, but the absolute best buffet I've ever been to belonged to the Empress (now Argosy) riverboat casino in Joliet, Illinois. I've seen entire families just come in for the buffet.

The Rio has a lot of selection but only 1 person in our party of 4 didn't have to dash for the bathroom after about 10 minutes. I won't go back. If you have kids with you, they will love it. (Burgers, fries, chicken fingers and shakes).

Everybody has different tastes though.. I am sure there are people out there who think the "Surf" is the best in Vegas.

Well, I don't know about best tasting, but one of the biggest buffets I've seen there is at the Stratosphere. If you like crab legs, they have plenty. Lots of selection. Not too greasy on some of the stuff. The fish was yummy. But it's relatively cheap, so don't expect the absolute best.

And there's always the IHOP. Classic grease, but still yummy. No grits, though.

    Avoid Circus Circus buffet. >wretch<

It's not a buffet, but the coffee shop in the Golden Nugget (downtown) has always been good.

Main Street buffet isn't too bad, but the food in thier microbrewery is sub-par. The beer isn't too bad though.

Last year we ate in the Main Street steak house. If you're looking to spend a few extra bucks for a nicer, quieter environment, this is your ticket.

My brother's wedding reception was at the Rio last fall and over half of the people there got a stomach virus or food poisoning. We were never sure if it was the food or if someone there was sick and passed it on.

The buffet at the Fremont hotel was really good; I think it was about $13 but included a cooked-to-order steak and tons of seafood.

Luckys is a breakfast tradition for us when in Vegas. It's a diner in the Hard Rock. Breakfast at the Golden Gate is also a tradition for on the way to the CGE from the Golden Nugget.

Buffets? Feh. Each and every one of you mofo's will be eating in the Subway Sammich Shop in the Plaza lobby.

If you're looking for cheap, good, QUIET eats, go across the street and eat in the Golden Gate Casino diner. Only holds about 30 people but it's quiet, out of the way, and a good place to get away from all the noise and flashing lights. Food's pretty decent and it's cheaper than hell. I have the ham-steak and eggs breakfast every year when I'm at CGE. God my wife hooked on it last year.

Aw hell, I forgot about that. And here I've been trying to cut back on my McGriddles consumption. I'm a dead man.

D'oh! We forgot to throw one of these together! Oh well, I'm certain we'll all run into each other at the Friday night parties - if not earlier in the day!
