But what you guys think is it worth it?

Some of the best first-party SNES games (anything with SA-1 as well as a few other special chips) and a selection of NES games won't play on that, sorry to say. I'd check the compatibility lists to make sure none of your favorites are on there before buying one.

I wanted one for a while, but its incompatibility* issues just don't make it very appealing if you have access to the actual consoles.

*especially since such iconic games like Super Mario RPG, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (NES), Kirby's Superstar, and the Super FX based games are the ones that don't work.

He said he has an original SNES, so maybe SNES compatibility isn't as important. NES compatibility on these clones is normally very good, except for substandard sound, isn't it?

Sound sucks, system sucks. Only purpose it serves is if you have a table with a short leg........it wont be wobbly anymore, catch my drift?

Seriously though, if you dont want to buy all required systems Id suggest getting a SNES and those Retro Adapters for NES and Genesis. They suck too but not as bad as the Retro Duo waste of plastic and circuitry.

Definitely not. Theres a handful of the BEST games that wont play at all and the audio gets raped by the system. Every game! it doesnt care who it violates!!!!!!!

Isn't this the one where depending if you use the RCA jack or the RF cable the NES or the SNES a/v quality goes right into the toilet so you have to pop 'n swap the cables to make it worth even bothering. And even then of course chipped games have problems as do various others, and the system on a chip stuff tends to foul the audio too.

The best solution I've ever seen at least for SNES is the Supaboy v2 either as a portable or jack it into the TV, lie it down, and pop a real snes controller into it to get the most bang for your buck on a clone as it can run almost anything thrown at it correctly.
