This game was better than I thought. Mario Golf Advanced Tour

I'm not really into golf very much but last week I got a bunch of games for a trade and found Mario Golf Advanced Tour for GBA. I started playing the game for the hell of it and now I can't stop. I'm more into this game than I ever thought I could be. It's not the best most awesome game in the world.... but it sure is a lot of fun. Kinda has some RPG feel to it as you can level up your characters and unlock new areas. I'm glad I put the game in to give it a try, now I'm addicted to it. Anyone else play this game?

I played this a lot a year or two ago, and although some of the RPG stuff just slows the game down, it's a far better experience than the Tennis game.
My original motivation for picking it up was to unlock stuff in Mario Golf Toadstool Tour for GC, but I actually wound up spending more time with Advance Tour.

It is a pretty damn fun game. I've come to find most the Mario sports titles are fun. Mario tennis, baseball, soccer, all entertaining and fun to play with a group of people.

Mario Tennis for GBC has similar rpg elements. It can currently be found for very cheap, too

I'm planning to get it again sometime this year I think(unless the 3DS one blows me away.) It was a pretty fine game but outside of the visuals and audio I felt it was a little bit of a downgrade over how the GBC original was setup as I had a lot more fun on those courses and the RPG parts too so perhaps look into that one for more fun?

Mario Hoops 3 on 3 on the DS is my personal fav mario sports game. It's genuinely enjoyable and each character does have a fairly unique playstyle. Speaking of characters, not only is there a plethora of mario/DK characters to unlock,as it was co-made by SquEnix you can actually play as several final fantasy characters. You can make Black and White Mages, a Moogle and a Ninja take a break from their world-saving quest to chill and shoot some hoops.

Also, that fucking character select song. IT WILL NEVER LEAVE IT WILL NEVER LEAVE IT WILL NEVER LEAVE



The game is somewhat like mario sports mix on the wii's basketball mode but that version lacks the entire coin/item mechanic that made Mario Hoops feel like mario kart with basketballs, and its touch controls actually ENHANCE the gameplay.
