Red face SMS HU card games.

I really want to just have a HU card game for my SMS just because.

Need a good choice of game to find and I don't know what it is good.

lol they weren't Hu Cards, they were called "Sega My Cards" and then called "Sega Cards". Actually, since they were introduced in 1986, they predate the PC Engine.

Anyway, sorry to disappoint you but there isn't a single game worth owning on Sega Cards. The only ones that come close are My Hero or Transbot, but those are maybe 6/10 at best. It's a cool-on-paper concept, but the limited size coupled with Sega's lackluster library when the format was feasible meant it was doomed from the get-go.

Thats awesome! Lol. I never thought to call them that.

To answer the OPs question... Ghost House. I used to rent that game all the time. Its not amazing, or a system seller by any means, but its a fun and charming, albiet repetative arcade game.
If a god is willing to prevent evil, but not able, then he is not omnipotent. If he is able, but not willing, then he must be malevolent. If he is both willing and able, then why is there evil? If he is neither able or willing then why call him a god?

My Hero is in my top 5 SMS games. A very solid port of the arcade version and a soundtrack that just won't fucking quit.

If you only buy one card, that's the one to buy.

I CHALLENGE you to listen to the main game song and not get it stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

"And the book says: 'We may be through with the past, but the past ain't through with us.'"

Yeah, I wasn't going to say anything because I actually have my eye on My Hero right now on eBay. I did figure, however, that Frankie was going to take up for My Hero. The game is fun, charming, and, as mentioned, has a sweet little tune rocking through the first stage. I can't speak for Satoshi, but this game is definitely my cup of tea. Wait a day or so before you bid on it, bigbacon, providing you decide to grab it.

I just picked up a Power Converter at the flea market as chance would have it so that means Wonderboy, Shinobi, and, of course, My Hero are making their way to my home through the U.S. Postal Service right off the rip.

Damn! That is pretty catchy, but I'm still saddened by the lack of Ghost House in this thread!

A staple of my childhood I tell you!

F-16 Fighting Falcon. Trust me on this. It's the killer app of the platform.

I'd say My Hero and Ghost House are my favorites.

Ghost House, My Hero, Spy VS Spy, and Teddy Boy were really cool. Just my two cents though.

Yeah as mentioned, My Hero, Teddy Boy, Transbot and a few others are alright, but these are very simplistic games even for NES/SMS standards. You can kind of think of them as the Sega equivalent of the meh entries of the NES black box launch games like Baseball or Tennis or Pinball. What you get isn't awful, but also isn't great.

there are quite a few My Card games left in Japan which are quite enjoyable if you can appreciate mid/early 80's style gaming

    here are some I own:
    Bank Panic
    Bomb Jack
    C-SO!
    Champion Billiards
    Champion Boxing
    Champion Ice Hockey
    Championship Lode Runner
    Chack 'n' Pop
    Choplifter
    Elevator Action
    H.E.R.O.
    Monaco GP
    Pit Pot the Magical Castle
    Pitfall II The Lost Caverns
    Soukoban
    Star Force
    Super Tank
Woody Pop: Shinjinrui no Block Kuzushi
    Zoom 909

Champion Billiards is an excellent game of pool by Compile, the music is surprisingly good for the era ~ but of course Compile has always been known for their excellent compositions
Choplifter is a great version of that game, and very enjoyable
Champion Boxing is rather good and quite unique
Woody Pop is one of my favorite ball&paddle/block games, and controls fantastically with the paddle controller
    Star Force is pretty good
    Elevator Action is fun
C-So! is a neat action game from Compile
    Bomb Jack is very good
the only games I listed above which I don't enjoy are Load Runner and Soukoban

And it should be noted, these were introduced in 1985 along with the Hudson Bee Card for MSX computers.

when I saw Pitfall 2 on there I was excited because I love the Atari 2600 version. Upon looking up videos I have to say. the Atari version is a lot better, specially the music even.

Aren't the Card games that were left in Japan for the SG-1000 Mark II? That would explain why they are so primitive/awful.

Yes most all of the My Card games were first released for SG-1000 compatible systems.
A couple later ones like Woody Pop are strictly Mark III compatible.

Calling them all "awful" is rather ignorant and unfairly dismissive. These games were designed in 1985, if you can't appreciate them in that context, and for the simple straight forward challenges they offer then that's fine, but awful as a blanket statement is almost juvenile.
