So,... in japan while the original playstation was still running strong, a series of games were released at a budget friendly price point of 1500¥.
A publisher D3 ran a series of games by different developers that harken back to the Atari 2600 titles.
Gripping and imaginative games like "The Tennis", "The Shooting", "The Bike Race", "The Dungeon RPG"...and so on.
Even Hello Kitty had a handful of games in this series.
Many, but not all saw releases in North America as late as 2003 for the original playstation at a price of 10 bucks.
To hell with it, I picked up a few and even though they're not the deepest games, they're surprisingly fun.
Some are clunkers, but some are great for their price.
The retitled "The Shooting" was "Space Shot and for what it is...kind of a poor man's Einhander, it's not bad.
They also ran a series for the PS2, Some of which are just updated versions of the original PS1 titles.
This time however, North America didn't get these titles but Europe got plenty of them.
Has anyone gotten into the games?
If you take them for what they are, not a great series or bad series Just charming games in most respects.
.
Here's a list of the Japanese for the PS1 from D3's site http://www.d3p.co.jp/s_15/s15_main_g.html
And for PS2 http://www.d3p.co.jp/s_20/s20_g.html
I have no idea why I have an odd interest over these games.
Should I have my head examined or just finish the damned collection?
