Better than the first one. The characters aren't really any more likable this time around, but it was more challenging and had a fairly interesting story. Music was great.

Fun, unique shmup on the Genesis. It's pretty easy, but that didn't get in the way of my enjoying the experience at all. I loved the steampunk/airship stuff in the game; it really makes it stand out from the rest of the pack. At times it's a very beautiful game. I was surprised at the amount of slowdown in the game....I guess this was before Sega's marketing team discovered blast processing.

Seems identical to the Playstation version I am used to. This time I even completed Planet X and got the funny secret ending.

Since I planned on doing all of these in one or two sittings, I decided to group them all together. I enjoyed the story, but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired. 90% of it is annoying quick time events, made harder by the games being glitchy, jittery messes. Overall, I'm disappointed, TellTale can and has done better.

I've had this game sitting on the shelf for months and decided to finally give it a go. Took awhile to fully figure out how to play the game, but it was worth it. Fun game. I've heard the other versions are crap, but I might check them out to see how they compare.

Fun little game. Reminds me a lot of early PS2 sandbox games. Lots of objects to find, a decent combat system, selectively twitchy camera. Worth a play, I think.

3DO version is my preferred as you can save without remembering codes.

Today I finally beat Dynamite Headdy on the Mega Drive. It's always been one of my favorite games on the system, but I never finished it due to how bad I was at it. Years later I finally managed to beat it and now that I've played through the entire game I think I like it even more. Easily my favorite game by Treasure!

Complete list of everything I've beaten this year:

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror
    Donkey Kong 64
    Pilotwings 64
    Mega Man X
    Conker's Bad Fur Day
    Mega Man 1
    Quake
Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition
    Earthworm Jim
    Rocket: Robot on Wheels
    Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
    Final Fantasy IV
    Dynamite Headdy

This was a really fun game that I went into not knowing too much about. I liked the storyline to the game and the setting alot. The graphics are cool, with some large, detailed sprites. Having the 3 ninjas to choose from, each with their own distinct moves and feel, added a lot to the experience.

Picked this up yesterday. Really fun to play it for the first time. I enjoyed playing through the single player mode. Just wish my wife was into games like these so I could have someone to play against. It's got me wanting a Saturn arcade pad now haha. Graphics are great and diggin that music.

Another quality entry in the DKC series by Retro. Sometimes I say "they don't make em like they used to", but then I realize that Nintendo, Retro, and some other select companies still do. Beautiful graphics, exciting and varied stages, tried and true gameplay, and sweet music.

Beaten off of my original save file from 1995. Feels good to finally scratch this one off the list, I was afraid the battery would die before I ever got around to it.

Just came back to this after a few months away. Definitely the hardest "Mario" platformer I've played in some time. I thought it was pretty interesting that each of the levels are so small and you only have like 100 seconds to get through it. Kinda made me care even less about collecting Star Coins though. Still very fun and always glad to see Luigi get some love.

Finished Soleil yesterday and finished Ghouls 'n Ghosts today.

Soleil was overall a pretty fun Zelda-style action adventure, though it was really let down by a pretty rubbish translation. I still enjoyed it overall though.

Ghouls 'n Ghosts was one I've been meaning to finish for a while now. I had beaten all the levels in the past but had never bothered to play through it twice in a row to fight the final boss and get the real ending. Finally fixed that today, played through it on Professional difficulty too. All I can say is that I'm grateful Capcom decided to give the game infinite continues!

Complete list of everything I've beaten this year:

Broken Sword II: The Smoking Mirror
    Donkey Kong 64
    Pilotwings 64
    Mega Man X
    Conker's Bad Fur Day
    Mega Man 1
    Quake
Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition
    Earthworm Jim
    Rocket: Robot on Wheels
    Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
    Final Fantasy IV
    Dynamite Headdy
    Soleil
    Ghouls 'n Ghosts
