Default Rose Colored Gaming's SNES-themed GBA (in-the-wild pics inside!)

    Hey guys,

So, I wanted to post some pics of a rather lovely item I received from wiggyx's Rose Colored Gaming today -- I can't open it yet because RCG sent me the wrong one (I ordered the Super Famicom version and received the American SNES version... I'm trying hard to be patient because I've been waiting since March for this!) and I haven't heard back about an exchange, but I can at least show you some pictures.

This thing is absolutely gorgeous -- I shot all these images in natural light so you can appreciate the paint job. It's hard to tell but almost all of the colors are spot on -- damned near exact to the original paint scheme of the American SNES -- with the exception being the B/A buttons, which are a little lighter than the B/A on an SNES controller (and I think that's largely to do with the finish.)

In any case - enjoy, and excellent work, wiggyx! I've colored adjusted the first image slightly to give you a more accurate representation of what the buttons look like in person - absolutely gorgeous:

Whatever happened to him? He use to post here all the time.

The console looks awesome and very professional. If you don't mind saying I'd love hearing how much he charges for these.

I've been wondering where he went off to too as his new projects and posts in general were an asset and good to read.

If I had to guess, I'd say he's now just overwhelmed thanks to some mainstream gaming press getting wind of the SNES/SFC designs. Their Facebook page was at 4,000 likes in mid-June, and they were celebrating with giveaways every 1,000 likes -- then after the press, they exploded to over 8,000 likes and still growing. They're basically trying to balance production/shipping/social media/email and it's a bit overwhelming for them right now. But yes, I paid $249 for this, and it is, indeed, a very nice looking piece of kit. Yes, I realize it's about $70 more than they're asking for other designs and that I could get a backlight modded GBA on eBay for about $60 -- and I already have. But these are designs I've basically wanted my whole life -- the SNES being my all-time favorite system and the GBA having so many good portable versions of SNES classics. Anyway.

I don't know about here, but the people on Neogaf were really savage to him.

There are Chinese clones now for all the Nintendo "Gameboy" systems which are backlit.

And I'm sorry you don't make enough money for $250 not to matter, I guess.

I saw. I think the main issue is that they don't have the bandwidth to run an operation at the scale that demand for their products dictates; it can be tough to get their ear sometimes. Other than the mix up with packages that is already in the process of being fixed, I've had nothing but good experiences with RCG.
