Default What can cause a Neo Geo CD to start spontaneously reseting itself?

Sometimes my system will just reset to the start up screen and then keep rapidly resetting, it usually happens after long periods of playing but doesn't happen all the time, what could be the cause of this? Is there any way I can prevent it from happening? I have the normal top loading system.

Mine did this before. I heard it comes from the little piece of plastic that sticks downward from the lid not keeping the button that tells the system the lid is closed held in consistently. The disc spinning or controller cord being moved might make it shake or something.

One person told me what to do is put some scotch tape or something tightly on that piece of plastic so it can still go in, but make it extend just a little bit longer to ensure that the lid button is making complete contact with the thing that detects it being pressed in.

I'm a collector, but only to a certain extent.
Not as extreme as Rickstilwell though.[/quote]
