Default What Skylanders packing had the wireless portal?

I'm looking for a wireless skylanders portal with dongle to use with console.

Which packs was this included in?

I know 3DS has a wireless portal but does that come with a dongle and work on the Wii PS3 or is it 3DS only?

I'm pretty sure all of the Spyro's Adventure packs were wireless and they switched to wired from giants on.

The Wii and PS3 Spyro's Adventure both were wireless. It's very finicky. Mine never worked well. I eventually plugged my 3DS portal into the Wii for reliability, even though it's smaller. The original portals had trouble with connecting with the dongle after turning the system off.

I still need a Wham Shell to finish my original set. I refuse to buy into the later ones, but I bought the originals to play with my nieces and nephews (and now my son when he's big enough). At first I thought, "money trap." Then, thinking about it, 8-year-old me would have gone crazy over the idea.

My daughter who is 8 is a big fan of the series. While I find the games are a little too dummied down for my tastes, features like no jump button actually make it easier for her to navigate.

Wham shell was the last one she needed from series 1 as well. Series 2 is also very cheap to buy these days. You can easily buy bulk collections on ebay pull the characters you need and resell the rest to build a free collection if you are patient.

Heads up, starting with Swap Force jumping is now a thing.
