Default React Guitar Star Power issue?

Hey there! Recently picked up a wired React RTPS26 for the PS2. Everything seems to work great, except the star power doesn't activate when I jerk the guitar up (I have to hit select). Is this by design, or did I manage to pick up a defective guitar with a bad accelerometer?

    Thanks!

It's not even worth looking into replacing or fixing this. Learn to use the select button. Activating at the exact moment desired is important for these games.

I was more asking if this model shipped without an accelerometer or if it was indeed defective. I wouldn't go to the trouble of fixing with how many of these things show up in the wild, I was really just asking if it was by design so I know what to list before selling it and getting a new one.

    Thanks!

Yeah this. Activating the star power via rocking the guitar is never the best choice. The star power kicks in late or not at all, anf often doing it this way causes missed notes. Just get used to slappping the select button.

On a somewhat unrelated note, 'Electric Eye' by Judas Preist and 'Come Play With Me' by Extreme got released for RockSmith today...

I see. That wasn't clear in the original post. Well any 3rd party model controller for these should have a tilt sensor but it's entirely possible it's not equipped with that at all. Even if you don't know for sure you can still declare that tilting that controller won't trigger what the select button will always do.

Very cool. Electric Eye is great, but have you ever paid attention to the message in the lyrics...
