    Default SMS domestic VS. Import

For the Sega Master Systm Just wondering, does anyone know how much the difference in price should one pay for an import of the same title compared to the domestic release? For instance how much more/less is Import of Sonic the Hedgehog worth compared American version?
I realize there is no formula to this but If I can just get some generalizations it would help.
    Thanks

Well, on eBay a US sonic will run you about $40, where as a UK one will run you about $8

The difference between the two: a small sticker on the back of the box that covers the UPC.

    Same for Spiderman, and Strider

All other games have different packaging/ instruction manuals, and are quite un-desireable for US collectors.

I've heard someone mention before that Sonic had a US (english only) style manual, but I've dismissed this as the input of someone who doesn't know shit about the SMS.

Plus, many of the good imports that were also released in the US are Dirt-common overseas, and thus worth MUCH less.... But I've seen some deceptive people sell UK copies of Alex Kidd in Shinobi World in the US, and STUPID bidders still pay $40 for it 'cause they're un-informed idiots.

Wait, did the US SMS Sonic come with a US style manual (tall, vertical), or europe style (long, horizontal) one? My europe Sonic definitely does not have a US style manual.

As far as I can tell, the US and UK sonic's are identical, with the exeption of that little sticker on the box (which could be easily removed).
Here's a web-site with pics of ALL the US releases, EXCEPT, PLEASE NOTE THIS GUY HAS A EURO COPY OF FANTASY ZONE 2!!! otherwise, this is a complete US collection:

I couldn't say it any better. Nicely put Raccoon Laddy.

By the way, your quote reminds me just how crazy I am for the SMS.

$60 for brand new Buster Douglas sealed.

I remember seeing an auction on Ebay for FANTASY STAR bid all the way up to $80 - for A LOOSE COPY! I won't pay more than $8-10 for a loose cart of anything!

I have actually seen FANTASY STAR for the SMS go for as much as $50 boxed. Maybe I spend too much time on Ebay. I win 3 auctions or so a week, so perhaps I do! x_x

I noticed that also Shinobiman, also I would like to state that i am still looking for Buster Douglas Boxing, NTSC format.
If someone has this please contact me through pm.

The only thing that is easily noticeable between domestic and pal is the manual. Vertical for domestic, horizontal pal.

The back of the box on Euro imports are multilingual as well, and some games have different box art: Paperboy, RC Grand Prix, Aerial Assault to name a few.

While being picky about game name usage...Buster Douglas' first name is James, not Joe like in your signature...that might help you get a copy

I was so excited a couple of months ago. I got a Buster Douglas Boxing game, and thought I had gotten a huge deal...turns out the Genesis version isn't as rare as I thought it was x_x
